Their ultrapass is what is really interesting. A passme device with onboard memory so you can upload games and take out your card and simply play a game without a flashing a DS with just one item instead of 2.

I've decided against for the main fact that standard SD cards DO stick out of it. Only the RS-MMC cards it supports fit inside the cart completely. I'd rather have a large supercard that protects my SD card than have it stick out.

I don't think I trust any of my DS/GBA hardware. They look shifty to me. I think they might be involved with something dangerous or illegal.

LOL

I've got one of these Ultra Media Cards on the way to me at the moment. Along with the M3 MiniSD i'm also waiting on soon i'll have all 3 carts and can get down to some hardcore testing
y setup:

Original, plain DS
Supercard SD with 1gb card (Firmware 1.60)
Flashme v5
Convert software 2.5
All games patched to run from and save to SD card, rom trimming on.

A posting of a comprehensive review would be nice.

that's quite a good idea, i could take selected roms (and especially some known 'troublesome' roms) and compare all 3 units against each other for performance.

Please make sure to do Advance Wars 2 then!

Well i've finally got it today. I've only had a little play around with it but my initial impressions using gba roms.....

- It takes ages for the games to boot (about 60 seconds)

- There is no slowdown on the few troublesome games i tried (mario kart, tekken advance)

- I don't think you need any funky button combinations to save, it's all automatic

So far it seems ok as a gba cart, i'll have a better play with it over the next few days. If anyone has any requests to try with it i'll gladly do it.

EDIT: Confirmed, you don't need any button combos to save gba games. The save is stored on the umc and you can copy it back onto the sd/mmc card via the menu after you've finished playing

Another update... Advance Wars 2 (EU) doesn't work :(

So it seems the only downside (right now) is the loading time, but there is no slowdown or funky button combos to save, but i think more testing is needed.

Still, the no funky button combos to save is a major +

You might want to go tell EricSing that. He's the admin on the board. In fact confirmations of games you have played that have worked he's also looking for (but you have to know the id number for the game).

anyone got another video of that UMC
