Ok, i have been looking all around the Internet for a topic that i needed. Unfortunately, could not find one, so i rather create one.

While playing with my NDS lite, i have realised that the D-pad makes clicking noises. At first i had an idea that perhaps it has recieved its fate of controls 'sticking', but the funny thing is that it does not stick one bit. In fact, it feels like there something there obstructing the controls ever so slightly. Well, i dont want to be a noob and point out thats the problem. Because all D-pads has an electronic strip which is pressed while you use the D-pad. Perhaps thats what is making the clicking noises.

However, i am worried since that this 'clicking' noises had occured recently, and only is heard when first pressing upwards on the D-pad (no noise yet), and straight after, pressing downwards (the sound of the click occurs). Sometimes the clicking noises just dissapears over all, but soon it welcoms itself back.

My question is if anyone else had the same problem here? I still am under warranty, however i would like to ask you guys whether this problem can be solved over warranty, or.....there's nothing wrong with it.

BTW, not flashed, using a superkey etc.

Please help!

I had my Lite changed to a new one due to a bad D-Pad + bad touchscren. My problem was that when I pressed the pad at right and then to left it was left a bit stuck to the right. It always had a cracking noise and it didn't function well. Nintendo contacted me and said that the D-Pad was very loose and it was not supposed to be  like that. They also said that a moving touchscreen like your's needs to be changed. That is why I got a new Lite.

OK, but once you get it changed, does it mean your warranty finishes? I had in mind to keep the DS for a couple of months before sending it off.....

Otherwise, if they still accept the warranty policy after you get it changed, i think i should get it sent off!

i think u get a 6mth repair warranty, or a continued warranty, whichever is longer, but im not sure, see what someone else says

Well tommorow, i will be contacting Nintendo about this matter. Although it has not affected the system, i am reporting this problem as 'annoying'! Its true, everytime using the D-pad, i have a constant fear that it may just stick, reason why i like to get it replaced instead of that happening after my warranty finishes etc.

I hope everything goes well when i contact them tommorow...

Sent my lite in for a faulty d-pad. problems with the diaganals not working. But once they replaced the whole system the warranty renued itself. You can check your systems warranty length here: https://www.nintendo.com/cpp/repairs/warrantyLookup.do and then if they replace it check it again and see if it's renued.
