Okay everybody thanks for your posts on my previous topic about my fried Sandisk Ultra II 1GB MicroSD ( http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6373 )

I am not asking for any more help, but I thought i'd provide a resource for anyone with the same problem by writing up an overview of what happened.

I got the UltraII in the mail, put it in my computer and formatted it FAT, then loaded a few backup games on it, which played beautifully in my SCLite. Then I put it back in the computer to load some more games on it, and tried to copy some more on (maybe 8-ish? which means 16 files including the saves), and in the middle of that I got some write-error.

After this error, the MicroSD card continually disrupted my card reader (making the drive letter disappear and reappear in "My Computer"). This behavior happened on 2 computers (WinXP Pro and Home, laptop and desktop). Two SD cameras I tried putting the card into wouldn't recognize it either.

Basically, I could find no fix for this and had to send it back. I was very surprised because the Sandisk UltraII is supposed to be the best MicroSD 1GB you can buy!!! The store I bought from didn't have stock for an exchange, so I took a refund and ordered the A-Data 1GB from newegg.com (newegg item# N82E16820211042 ) which works GREAT so far (*knocks on wood*). I have no slowdown in any of my backups (incl. Castlevania).

I mainly wrote this post for anyone who happens to have the same problem and this will show up when they do a forum search. Hope it helps!
