MAX MEDIA LAUNCHER - SUPERCARD LITE

Just bought myself a supercard lite and a max media launcher together with a regular sandisk 1gb chip and a little USB reader.

After an hour of fiddling around, reading such forums and many white screens I finally got it to work. I realised I had to download the supercard lite application to patch my downloaded roms. After that it was as simple as dragging the two files (.dsq and .sav) to my SD card and I was away.

The good thing with the Max Media Launcher is the fact that I didnt have to fanny about changing my DS firmware which means its still under warranty.

All my ROMs work fine with no discernable lag and games such as Kart and Starfox work online too with no problems. I have filled my SD card with maybe 20 games.

One slight crtitism. The battery life seems to be about 60% that of playing with a regular cartridge.

I still highly recommend this solution to all DS owners.

just to warn you that the max media launcher doesnt support sleep mode - the screen will flicker if you close the ds

I beg to differ.

I use sleep mode to the xtent that i leave my DS on most of the day and just pick it up for quick spurts. When i researched into the Max Media Launcher I was told on many forums and youtube that sleep mode was its only downfall.

However when I got my MML is was pleasantly surprised. Sleep mode is fully able. When i close my DS Mario says 'goodbye' it sleeps happily with no random flicker of the green light or sound glitches.

I dont know whether this is because I have a new version or what but I can assure you sleep mode is fine with my MML.

One other drawback which has been mentioned on a previous post is that I now have so many damn games I don't get into any particular one as much as I would have done if I had bought it. If I buy a game I make sure its gonna be great before I buy it then cane it to death. Now I just play one level get bored and play another game.

As some bloke said on another post 'if this is what its like to be rich e.g. have everything, then its not all its cracked up to be'

I wonder if I had a fleet of luxury sports cars I would get bored the same!!!!

Devil_Spawn

cool i didnt know that! a new version interesting

I don't really have any warranty since my DS is imported and I think there's a fair bit of legal wrangling there.  I've got a Superkey and a supercard lite, but I don't seem to need it - the Supercard OS boots without the Superkey in the top.  Is the Superkey a once only thing, then unnecessary? I've never seen it described as such.

The only ROM I have on the card is tetris (for the gameboy, but I can't play it on my DS), but I own that, so it's fine, I think.  I bought it for playing programs of the telly and that's not working, although sampling the general opinions I seem to be a freak occurence of it not working.  Or incompetence.  Who knows?

Devil_Spawn

hi, the superkey isnt a once-only thing its neccessary every thing (or should be)

when the supercard os boots without the superkey in, does it show supercard DS on the bottom screen? if so, you didnt actually need a superkey, as the place you bought it from had already flashed the firmware

Heh, that's brilliant.  Actually, no, it's quite annoying, it means I have to take the thing out anytime I want to play a DS cart.  I think I'll settle for 'random.'

Agreed... I got a Supercard Lite + MML and it works perfectly in Sleep Mode.

... I dunno when they fixed it and they don't boast about it on the box, but it works :)
