Introduction
============
Users can copy games/programs into CF card without using M3 Game Manager and run this game/program on GBA or NDS consoles with M3 adapter. However, more powerful features can be added in if adding games by using the M3 Game Manager.

Major functions of M3 Game Manager

I Decompressing ZIP type files automatically.
II Support the emulation games automatically, includes: GB,SMS,GG,PCE,NES etc.
III Press A+B+L+R simultaneously at any time when playing games or running programs, the " M3 multi-function menu " will come out. The function of this menu includes: Return to Main menu, Restart and Instant Save function etc¡

PC: (pc application)
====================

2) Run or restart M3 Game Manager Application Programs.
3) Select ¡°My Computer¡± from the left window. And then select the ' + ' symbol next to it.
4) Choose the corresponding removable disk of the CF card Reader. (Such as: Removable (G:))
5) Select that removable disk or its left side ' + ' symbol
6) All listed directories under that ¡°removable disk¡± are the directories in the CF card. You may choose any destination directory that you wanted to store file in.

10) The program or the game title will be listed in the window to indicate that the game/program is copied successfully. (You may copy more than one game or program into CF card, just repeating the procedure from the step 7.)
11) Un-plug the CF card. Insert it into the M3 and run it on GBA/NDS consoles.

Loader: (console software)
==========================
Normally, it's simple to load a game. Just select a game and press "A" button to load. To keep continuously use the previous saver (game save data). Please read the following information.

Note:
Normally, games need to use some memory space to store some parameters (game save data) for recording the status, score, money, level etc¡ These data will keep for long even power off the consoles. Thus, these data usually are stored in the memory of the card or cart (not in console). For M3 adapter, the data is stored in the SRAM inside the flashcard. Our SMS (Save Management System) will automatically copy the SRAM data into the ¡°Default Saver¡± file every time booting up GBA/NDS console. Hence, the previous game save data will be permanently stored into flash memory every time booting up the console. Usually, users only need to select loading the ¡°Default¡± game save file (first file ".0"). The game save data will be continuously to keep. Users may also has an option to copy the data of ¡°Default ¡± into one of the ¡°Backup Saver¡± by pressing the ¡°Select¡± button after entering into NDS GAME loader. It¡¯s very useful for making backup of the game save data or swapping other users to play the same game.

stupid2ass

I own both and it amazes me how fanboyism has spread to pirate devices as well.
Geez folks, the M3 is not a threat to the Supercard.  The Supercard gears to the low-end/value of the market.   It's the competition that makes them both better.  If the M3 had not been announced, do you think romman will even add NDS functions to the Supercard?  Probably not.  Had romman not copied the movie player advance's functions and added the ability to play GBA roms, do you think the M3 would've been released?

As for Gamesaving, we'll see once romman puts his new patcher and firmware out.  I'd like to see what he has implemented.
The thing with the M3 is, it has built-in SRAM so you can save directly to the SRAM for 1 gamesave.  Saving to the SRAM is even faster than the actual cartridge (see Nintendogs).  However, you are limited to only 1 gamesave so you have to remember to save the SRAM to the CF card or else you'll be kicking yourself later for losing your gamesave :).  The bad thing with the M3 is you are currently limited to 10 gamesaves which is totally retarded.  You don't need to worry about that limit with the Supercard since it saves it based on filename.  Worse the M3 folks seem to  have problems with implementing long filename support in their products.

I look forward to what romman has in store for us when he does release h is new firmware.

torne

The only difference I see here is that the M3's SRAM is presumably battery backed, so its contents are not lost if you turn the device off. You still have to manually manage saving/loading the savegames, you can just do it without QPC or a restart patch. This is a better design, you could argue, but patching the roms to save direct to CF/SD would work better (on either M3 or SC). It would also make Pokemon work - the M3 can't support >64kb GBA saves either, it seems.

brakken

Well, currently the M3 owns the Supercard, but this might change if/when romman releases an upgraded firmware.

What I meant is all of this m3 shit needs to go to another place; possibly creating another catagory called "other flashcarts" would suffice? Honestly, I'm sick and tired of seeing the damned devices name mentioned in every other thread when I'm trying to read about the SuperCard.

By saying this this you meant:

"instantly kill competitors fanboys"  and "clear this bitch up"  doesn't sound like creating another category... hehe  :wink:

[edit] but this "other flashcarts" category is a good idea, and i agree that when i want to read about supercard, i don't really want to end up reading about m3 :)
