Supercard Problem

Hi All,

When I start my DS I get the supercard logo on the bottom screen but on the top screen where my games used to be, it  is just a blank white screen. The same thing happens in GBA mode. When I run the tests everything seems okay apart from the last bit where is says

SD/MMC okay!
not find test file

Any help would be much appreciated, I guess my supercard could be the problem.

I'm having the same problem.  I just received my supercard lite/superkey from realhotstuff today and I'm using an A-Data 1GB card.  After a few reboot attempts I finally got the menu to show up a few times but it goes right into a white dual screen as soon as I load a rom.  I'm thinking the memory might be bad but I'm not having any problems with it outside of the supercard.  It's formated FAT 16...

What tests did you run?

Did you try updating the firmware ?

marnet

I was able to update my firmware to 1.7 but I'm still getting a white top screen on load up half the time and I'm only able to run a few homebrew apps (no ds roms).  Moonshell gives me an error telling me that there's a problem with my microSD card.

I'm defiantly a noob here so any advice on getting this card working properly would be really appreciated.

I updated the firmware and all was fine for a bit now I have this problem. Unable to do anything now as regards firmware as the top screen is just white

For me when the top screen goes white it means the games you are trying to run needs to be patched with a newer version of the patching software.

Download the latest patching software (remember this is type specific), then put the supercard upgrade in the root directory of the memory card and turn the nds on, this will ask you if you want to upgrade it, you should be upgrading to v1.7.

I have found the latest Patching software not to work on ay of the roms I have tried in the last few weeks, so i installed the 2.55c aswell and used that on Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, and Clubhouse Games to make the save, as the latest ver diddnt llet me save games.

I am not trying to run any games, I can't see my menu of games, all  get on the top sceen is completly white blank screen. Also I know my SD card is completly okay, reformatted put games back on and still nothing.

Where did you two buy your sc cards from? Are you sure they are not fakes? Did you accidentally download the rumble version instead of non rumble version or vice versa? Also maybe the rom you have is not a clean rom.

For not saving, the first version of 1.7 did not allow saves, redownload and install and will fix the save problem.

If the moonshell error goes away, that is normal.

At this point I've tested the read write speed of the A-Data card on windows and got roughly 60x speed (9.1 MB/s read 4.5 MB/s write) but I'm still getting errors in moonshell and reinmoon on load telling me its write test has failed.  Also accessing the disk to open songs or samples in nitrotracker is painfully slow.

onekelly:
I installed supercard lite (micro) 1.7 firmware downloaded yesterday from http://eng.supercard.cn/soft_scl.htm.  But this problem was happening before I updated the firmware.

Out2lunch & onekelly:
The problem has nothing to do with roms.  If I load a freshly FAT formated microSD card with anything on it (roms, homebrew, textfiles, nothing...) and turn on the DS I get the health screen followed by either:
- a white top screen where the file menu should be that lasts for about 8 seconds before it shows me the files
- or a white top screen that never shows me the file menu

At this point I'm thinking the supercard lite might be defective.

Not a fake.

I got my supercard from the uk and am pretty sure its not a fake. Its the supercard that is the problem as i have tried on a friends with his setup and through elimation we have worked out its not the sd card or super key. As for the fimware it was woking for about one month. I guess my supercard has just died!

Marnet, have you tried another microSD if you have a spare.

I am not sure from what you said if you have tried this.. Take your microSD and put it in its adapter and try it out in your friends SC SD.

You may have a bad supercard, you may want to contact the store where you purchased it from and see if they will exchange it.

Woot!!  So I called Real Hot Stuff who sold me the unit and they had a fix for me that worked.  scorer you should try this.  Apparently the screws on the back of the Supercard lite needed to be loosed a little bit on some units.  Just a 1/8 turn in my case.

It seems like the design of some supercards is a prone to shorting or loosening some internal connection if the screws on the back are too tight.  I think this might be specific to a newer revision because my card doesn't have the tight fit issue (not quite like sleeve of wizard but an easy fit).  They probably reduced the size of the internal enclosure and now we have a new problem....

Thanks for your help in narrowing down the problem.  I hope this helps others.

Scratch what i said. Another kudos to RHS!

Glad it is working for you.

Right I will try and explain :

I took the super card and SD card out of my friends into my DS, all worked fine so I could eliminate my DS and super key.

I then put mu sd card in my friends super card and tried in on my DS and once again I could see my list of games, which points to my super card.

so

I put my friends SD card in my super card and put it in my friends DS and all I got was the super card logo at the bottom and a white blank screen at the top. Hope that sounds right.

Glad you got yours working Marnet, unfortunaly loosening the screws didn't work for me.

If anybody else has any ideas please let me know of it looks like buying another,  have had it four months so I can't expect a replacement.

Thaks for your help too onekelly.

i'm having the same issues as scorer but my SCL rumble just came in yesterday. When i turn on my DS i can see the list of games on the top and the supercard logo on the bottom but when i pick a game it says loading and it goes into white screens. I entered the self test mode on the SC and it checks out fine and the sandisk micro seems to be working fine on my cell phone. Loosening the screws didn't work for me so i don't know what to try next.
