A "real" nds flash cart

Hi

I've read that gba flash cards ran gba games EXACTLY the same way the game would be run if it was on a real gba cartrage.

But even the slot-1 nds cards that have internal memory this isn't true.

is there "real" nds flash cart in development? It would be great for homebrew devolopers because SUDDENLY the homebrew they created would work on all flash carts (Just use the patching software.)

It would also be a cool Idea.

By "real" you mean a rip of the original firmware is embedded in the flashcart firmware?

I think he meant something like an xrom 512 type of cart. Hi, correct me if i am wrong. Where the game will run and act like a real cart, which it does.

Actually I believe there is one, though I'm not sure what its compatibility is like. It's very obscure and I can't remember the name of it right now, but it doesn't use a loader of any kind ... just one single clean rom at a time. I've only seen one person on an English speaking board claim to have one. It actually sounded like a big pain in the butt.

I have an EFALinker GBA cart and I can appreciate what youre talking about. I recommend it all the time to people looking for something for GBA only, and everyone else chimes in about M3 or G6. I guess the G6 might be the ticket, I've never tried one. But you'd have a hard time ever convincing me that running a GBA game from an SD card is as good as running it from hardwired RAM on the PCB.

Still, I love my SClite for NDS and I don't think any of the newer gadgets on the market, the SLot1 stuff including DS-X, even come close yet. I'm hopeful we'll see a Slot1 cart that's truly drag-and-drop for clean roms, is future proof, and has 100% compatibility. But in the meantime, for me the SC is where its at. Just can't beat that real-time saving without need for a battery. It's always possible for something to break, but in theory my SCLite could still be running strong when I'm an old man. WHether my DS lasts that long is another question.

Hi

Yes games run on flash carts just like they would normally, but obviouly somethings diffren't because...

1. Homebrew is only compatible with the type of card it's made for

2. Certain games have problems working on flashcarts (though on the better cards, you can usually upgrade to fix the problem... you get the Idea though.)

Hanafuda, if you remember the name could you please tell me. This is the kind of thing I'm really interested in. Do you think you could possibly give me a link to the official site. (Languge isn't any problem, The google transalator is annoying, but it works.)
