save files only working in root?

hi, i've just noticed since updating to the 1.7 firmware awhile back that some of my save files don't work properly anymore unless i have them in the root with the roms. this is annoying because i have most of my roms inside of my "ds" folder on my microsd card, but for either castlevania game to work, i have to keep them in the root. with dawn of sorrow, the save just doesn't show up, and with portrait of ruin, it says the save is corrupted if both it and the rom are not in the root. any suggestions?

If you updated to 1.7 as soon as it came out update again. They released a hotfix for it but still called it 1.7. So go to their site now, download "1.7" again and see if that helps. If not, try copying your files to your computer, formatting the card and copying them back to the card.

thanks. i didn't get that initial update, but i will format my card when i get up tomorrow morning. am i suppose to format it fat or fat32? i guess i could just check the card.

Hi nusilver,

Did Perseid's advice worked? I'm having trouble with Kirby Squeak House even though on the compatibility list (on dualscene) says it works.

The error I'm getting is "Your Saved Data Is Corrupted"

A couple of other games just plain don't work while others do.

Thanks for any tips you can give me.

if you are patching direct to your card, make sure that you have enough space on the card, as if the patcher runs out of space it will not warn you, it will just leave an incomplete rom and no save file on the card

DS Lite - Flashed (but I can put a passcard 1 if it makes a difference)
deleted, redownloaded SCSD 1.7 / 2.57

should i try a previous version of SCSD?

Jerby, welcome to scdev!

You are kind of hijacking this guys thread, no big deal. Someone has started a thread called Kirby Sueak Squad Doesnt Work. That may be a better spot to get info on kirby.
