I just wish that they wouldn't try to use English phrases like "evolution for play".  It makes it seem so much cheaper.

Quote from: "ZAFDeltaForce"Well, I guess we kinda expected that the M3 Simply = R4 from their similar circuit boards. I wonder if we could actually use the firmware from an M3 Simply on an R4?

Thanks for the info, sinkhead!

PS: Nice DSLite skin!

 I beat you to it.

I understand you can use the firmware from a M3 on the R4, but can you use the firmware from an R4 on the M3?

BTW, I just took the plunge and bought a M3 Simply from RHS. It was just under $50 shipped in the US.

So your saying definetly go with the M3 Simply. Probably have more regular updates and the company has been in business a very long time... as opposed to the R4?

I also noticed this on the firmware link that you provided...

QuoteCopy all the files at ‘system\english\skin-*’ on the disk to the root directory of the TF card (including _DS_MENU.DAT ; _DSMSHL.NDS ; skin-*.jpg and Shell folder

I do not see a anything for the skin at all. Atleast not like there is for the R4. And where can we get regular updates for the M3 Simply?

If the firmwares are interchangable, wouldn't it be better to order the cheaper R4 ($35 at winsunx, though I never ordered from there), and use the M3 firmware if necessary?

jbullfrog

autobulb, M3 has better support and is reputable.  Only $5 more at gameyeeeah.com, and $50 shipped from RHS

jbullfrog, I understand that M3 is a reputable company with good software updates, etc. However, gameyeeeah has it for $45 and it's pre-order. If I can get a very similar card for $35, and use the software of this reputable company (M3), doesn't that sound like a good deal? I'm just curious because I'd like to get the cheapest (best) solution, especially if the hardware is compatible with M3's software.

Autobulb, you should add the shipping costs to the $35 to see how much the total will cost. ;) If you are in the United States, shipping from winsunx will cost $18.81! Winsunx is located in China...

Hey sinkhead, you wanna sell me one of those carts?  :)

jbullfrog

Also, shipping time is much faster w/ RHS.

Moreoever, if your cart is defective...

dOoBiX: haha, thanks for that. I was wondering what it would cost. I was reluctant to make an account until I was ready to buy. I guess M3 is the way to go, from RHS. Their stuff gets to me in like 2 days.
