I got SCDS and I am very happy with it all roms I tried work great

Now I am seeking homebrew support SCDS doesnt seem to have good homebrew

I tried patching homebrews with chisms dlditool with the scds.dldi but snemul and snesDS dont work at al(white screen for snesDS and snemul keep showing me locating FS.... and keep blinking)

Is there any work around rather then patching with dlditool or shud I be getting a slot 2 device?

If slot-2 device the better solution I need some advice here deciding between M3 lite and SC lite
these are what I am looking forward to

1.Can boot up with my scds
2.100% homebrew support
3.Good GBA support

thanks for all the help

If you want GBA support at all, you need a slot-2 device with extra RAM, like a Supercard SD/miniSD/microSD (NOT the Rumble versions).  Also note that SnezziDS, another SNES emulator for the DS (and the best in my opinion), will only run on slot-2 devices with that extra RAM.  I don't know whether to suggest the M3 Lite or SC Lite based on your needs, but all I can say is that you must make sure you do not get a Supercard Rumble series or an M3 Pro series.

As far as the DLDI thing goes, it's all very new, and homebrew must be recompiled specifically to have DLDI support.  However, an older version of SNEmulDS was modified by a guy named theli to have DLDI support just today.  More info and a download link is at http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12146

If the sources of the latest version of SNEmulDS (v0.3a) were available, they could be modified too, but as of right now only v0.2 is open source.  The author has expressed interest in adding DLDI support himself however, and that he'd look at it this weekend, so I'll keep you updated if he changes anything.

great thanks for reply

I am thinkin of m3 pro and SC lite but the most important thing is that can my scds(one) boot the slot2 device?
i dont want to end up flashin my DS or getting a pass me.

GBA suport SC lite and M3 pro which is better or their the same?
Homebrew wise?
I dont really need perfect DS support coz I have SCDS maybe other slot2 devices that are good?G6

I'm confused just got my ds for 3 wks

I don't know much about the SCDS, but the Supercard homepage says that you can use the SCDS as a Superkey, so I would assume that you can use it like a normal NoPass device somehow.

If you're concerned about GBA support, you should probably go with the M3.  I have heard that the SC Lites have faster RAM than other Supercards, but there are still slowdowns and incompatibilities.  In general, the M3 has better compatibility for GBA games, which is why it is more expensive.  Homebrew-wise, I'd say they're about the same.

I wouldn't buy anything yet, as I have little experience with both M3s and SC Lites, so it would be better to wait for someone more knowledgeable to reply.

Have you tried the modified version of SNEmulDS with the correct DLDI patch on your SCDS?  I'm interested to know if it works or not.

I aint really interested to gba(PSP has good gba emu) more to homebrew wise just thinkin if i can get the best out of it then I will just go for the best coz I dun really like carrying my both psp and my ds along(PSP battery sucks big time)
tested it and it work wonders picodrive aswell
game compatibility kinda sucks compared to the psp(cant compare them ehr)

well it seems we just need to wait for a coder to compile them to dldi then  patch with dlditool with the proper dldi for scds,m3 simply etc for it to work

i am lookin forward to warcraft tower of defence hope it has dldi support  :D

Yeah, the SNES emulators for the DS aren't all that great yet.  SNEmulDS is still the newest one on the block and has only seen a couple of versions released.  There are also games that will never be emulated on the DS because they use special chips in addition to the main SNES CPU.  For instance, Super Mario RPG has a special chip included that runs several times faster than the SNES CPU itself!  SnezziDS tends to have better compatibility than SNEmulDS though.  Check http://wiki.pocketheaven.com for compatibility lists for those two emulators (just search for "snezzids compatibility list" etc).

I didn't really like the whole DLDI thing at first (who wants to patch every bit of homebrew they want to use?) but I'm warming up to the idea now that I can see just how many more devices are supported as a result.

yeah the dldi thing really sucks big time I wanted to try touch of war but oh well gotta try patchin if it works

the hombrew scene seems kinda slow but I cant coplain much DS got great commercial games compared to the psp got power but sucky commercial games, firmware wars, battery life sucks sony suck big time etc only good point though it has a big hombrew scene.

If the snes emu could be 80% atleast it would rock my psp might be kept in the locker with dust all over it and I think warcraft tower of defence might make the ds a good handheld theres a C&C clone too I am an RTS fan so I kinda got interested in the DS with its touch screen abilities

Umm, no. The "dldi thing" does not suck bigtime. It will be the sole reason you will even be able to run homebrew on your device in the very near future.

Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)
Madden PSP Slim v5.00 M33-6

As promised, archeide released SNEmulDS v0.3 with DLDI support so it should work on your SCDS.  Download it from http://snemul.free.fr/ds/SNEmulDSv03.zip

Let us know if it works for you.

tried it with ff3 and super robot wars 3 both still buggy sound support seems ok but ff3 screen keeps jumpin and sounds are very bad in srw the buttons cant be seen but I could save state so it aint that bad lookin forward to future releases i believe it will be better.
Anyway what are the roms that run nearly 100% with good sound?

i am impressed that megamanX runs nearly full speed sounds are ok but there are graphical issues like in the first stage megaman is supposed to be in front of the buildings but the buildings overlap him and in megaman X2 it runs but megaman is invicible sounds are ok too

for a 0.3 release this is fair enough

dantheman

At least it boots correctly.  That's the main thing.  I dont know of many games that run at 100% but you could check http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/SNEmulDS_Compatibility_List and see if a game you like works.  Keep in mind that the list is rather outdated and most entries are only up to version 0.2, so compatibility might have improved since then.
