New UPGRADEABLE Wii Mod "WiiKey"

This is the first Wii mod that is upgradeable and also allows u to play games NTSC-J games on your NTSC-USA Wii! It is made by the Xeno team so atleast this Wii mod has a team with history behind it. Here is it's feature list and a link to their site:

Damn, this is impressive. Is the wii motherboard and ciruitry very similar the GC? Is this why there is such a massive push to get the mod chips in such a short time compared to release date? x360 is nowhere as close to this.

How do u say the 360 is no where close to this? With the 360 u dont even need a mod at all and is upgradeable.

I guess i misstated that. the 360 is close but not to this extent (or should i say compared to the bootable from hd like the xbox original). And i know you can play backup games with products like xecuter 360usb and the blaster 360 to flash your dvd firmware. And ( l am a noob at the 360, just want to state that up front) don't you have to flash your firmware each time to go back and forth to real games and backups?

No you flash your drive once and your done. You play originals and copies on the same flashed drive, no need to reflash to play one or the other. But back to this chip, people are concerned that this chip will be detectable since it is upgradeable. Im gonna keep my cyclowiz order and order this one too and just see which pans out i guess.

Yea, i'm definately looking forward to finally modding that Wii of mine. Hopefully this will be soon be modified to a solderless version soon after it's release.

Ohhhhh it can play wii imports and backups... ~_~ Damn that's tempting... but yes I worry about it being detectable. I don't make enough money to get a second wii just to sit around to play import and backup games.

And to clarify if you have an NTSC-US Wii the ONLY other region of Wii games it will play are NTSC-JAP, it will NOT play PAL region games on an NTSC Wii and vice versa.

Wow, great week indeed.

Eagerly looking forward to this being the modchip of choice. Going to wait a bit to see how it pans out before making an order for either this or the Cyclowiz chip.

Being a complete noob at this, but able to flash 3 DS's with no problems, am I going to have problems soldering? I've never done it, but I can follow instructions well!

...And I got steady hands! =]

Word is that an NTSC Wii will never play pal games because hardware wise it is not built to do so, who knows though. The fact and that we here in the USA can play NTSC-J is still bad ass cause thats means we can play imports from Japan.

Perhaps it will one day be possible to patch the disks to switch formats.

Which is the only part I care about. Sorry Europe, you don't get the good games that other regions long for. Specifically, I'd get this mod if only to play the new harvest moon for Wii. Damn addictive farming games.

Hmmm, upgradeable via disc? I think nintendo will add some update to one of their 'discs' so the chip can't do his work anymore.
