why is almost every game for xbox 360 either a FPS, or some action/run-around-shooting type of game?

aside from Oblivion, Phantasy Star Universe, and Final Fantasy XI (and the latter 2 are pay-to-play MMORPGs) it feels like a single-genre system.  I know there are sports games, but I hate them, so I'm conveniently ignoring them.  hehe.

there is viva pinata, which is fun, but I get sick of the narration.  too much voice-acting.

I just wish the graphical power of the 360 would be harnessed for other types of games.. more adventure games, action rpgs, etc..

I guess there is Fable 2 coming later on, and blue dragon.. hmm.. good thing I have a wii and ps2 to satisfy my other cravings for now.  too bad they don't have HD graphics. :)

Its how microsoft makes money.  Look at the xbox what does everyone remember from it.  Thats right HALO, and its i have to say an fps.  This is probably why sales are so bad in Japan since they don't want just fps's.  Halo and gears of war are where xbox's money comes from now.  ea is just to milk those sports fans.

I think we still have some waiting to do. It was a long time before good RPGs came out for the PS2. And if you're looking for an RPG, Enchanted Arms, while not great, is decent.

A game I'm very excited about is the chopin rpg. It looks incredible!!!

The 360 IS very limited atm, but I'm always distracted by different consoles. If you really want a good game though, pick up Kameo. I actually loved it. Not often you get a launch title of that calibur on a non-nintendo console.

There are definately not enough platformers on the system though. I have to use the backwards compatability to get my plaformy fix.

I use my PS2 on a CRT tv still though. It looks like crap on my HDTV through component. For some reason... it looks incredible on a crt :S
