Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know exactly why PBR won't work with my Supercard SD? It works fine up until the point where I enter the Wifi Connection menu on the DS game, then it crashes (like most Download Play problems with flash carts). The Wii and DS do recognize each other, so it's probably not a wireless or connectivity problem.

I'm curious if it's a problem with playing the game on a US Wii, just the good ol' flash cart Download Play issue or something else.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, with the newest Flashme (I think 7?).

How do they connect? Do you put your DS in a download play mode, or do you actually load up Pokemon on the DS and then try the connection?

It could be the Wii has a similar thing as the DS's download play. You start the Pokemon game on the DS and the Wii tries to listen for it, but isn't getting the auth code and crashes like an unflashed DS trying to receive the download play demo of a ROM.

You start the process on the Wii and it tells you to start Pokemon and go to the opening menu. The DS game looks for wireless connections (to download announcements and to check if a Wii is trying to contact it). When it recognizes the Wii, another option in the menu pops up that says "Wifi Connection". After I hit that, a few second pass and my DS crashes. The Wii simply says it lost contact with the DS.

Also, I probably should have made it more clear that it's the DS game that is crashing.

Have you been able to connect to Nintendo WiFi through the GTS or other in-game activities?

I have also tried to import my pokemon from Diamond put PBR won't recognize my Supercard sd mini or lite and it also won't recognize my R4.

Yup, everything that uses wireless or WFC in the DS game works properly.

uzumakishade

this is one of the reasons im glad i bought the game after my save corrupted the first time on the supercard

KakTheInfected

Well, hopefully someone finds a workaround for this problem when PBR is out in the US. I'd love to play against random people online, but it's not worth starting over just to do it...

uzumakishade

well you wouldnt have to start over, if you have a slot 2 device you can use rein to transfer your sav to the cartridge, and i think theres a slot 1 type thing like rein as well

Just an update...repatched the Japanese rom and tried again. This time, the game did not crash but an error comes up that says "The DS card has been pulled out." on the DS game. Also, before the Wii made contact with the DS (it says so on the screen) but now that message doesn't even pop up.

Oh well, still gonna wait and see if the US version works fine. If not, it's off to the store.

bump for confirmation like above.

this game probably detects your slot 1 and slot 2 at the same time.

I have supercard SD, and tried both region and both D/P, but doesnt work.
