Would a proper DS game recognise a GBA game on a SCL?

I doubt it, but I just got burned by a fake pokemon emerald game on Ebay, if I used a GBA rom on a SCL, and at the end of the month wanted to transfer the pokemon on that rom save file to a legitimate pokemon diamond game in slot 1. Would it work (Probably not) or is there anyway it would work?

there is one way i can think it would work:

1. Get to the point where you get to transfer pokemon  (I believe its somewhere after the E4)

2. Download a program called Rain and put it on your SCL

3. Use the Rain program to copy your save from your Pokemon Diamond game to your SD card.

4. Download a copy of the Pokemon Diamond Rom, and use The save file you got from your original cart on it, and use the GBA union function with your Emerald rom.

5. Start pokemon Diamond from the SCL and transfer the pokemon

6. Use the Rain program to put the save back into your original cart.

I would like to mention, I have never tried Inserting a save into an original cart, and I have never actually tried using the GBA-union function, so I can't say this is a fool-proof method, but theoretically it SHOULD work.

Personally I'd just goto EB and pick up a copy of emerald, but if you want to try this method, or find another way, then good luck   :D

Ill try it, is there a great deal of danger mucking up the Diamond cart?
I was planning to do something similar with Ruby, since I dont feel like spending another 30 quid on another game. So we'll see.
Thanks for the help.

Devil_Spawn

gba union doesnt support saves - it is likely to not work

I think if you wanted any hope of this, you'd need a flash cart with battery backed SRAM such as an EZFlash

Doesnt the SCL keep GBA roms in its RAM? Im sure it does, Im also sure it never reloads properly but thats a seperate issue.

AnalogMan

It's not battery backed however. If you shut it off, remove it for a day then try to play your saved game again it's gone.

EZFlash will keep the save in a battery backed SRAM that's recognized by FireRed and LeafGreen to be a real GBA cart battery backed SRAM and will keep for a few days.

That surely doesnt matter in this case, just load up emerald and then switch on and off quickly and then load up diamond?

liquidnitrogen

i would think that the SRAM would by then be gone...

i can only see the EZflash 3in1 actually working for Pokemon Diamond...
