I've ordered my WiiKey. I'm a little excited, ahaha. But I have a few more questions!

1. I've never ever done anything like this before in my life, accept for buying a SuperCard which doesn't really require opening the DS up at all.. So, is it a bad idea to try installing the chip myself? Or should I blow 50$ to get it done professionally.

2. Just a little general wondering; If I ever need help with anything, would you guys be able to offer some advice? I'm very in-experienced with this stuff, and I'd hate to be a burden on you guys by asking questions constantly.

3 (applies to question 1): If I should do it myself and it's not that hard, what are the materials required to do it?

Thanks alot, and I'd just like to say this forum has been great help to me whether it's been Wii advice I'Ve needed, or advice for the SuperCard. Thanks so much :)

Save yourself the potential heartache, get a 'professional' to do it for you. That way if they make a mistake, they're liable and if they're decent people they'll replace whatever broke.

I just got my PS2 modded (6 years late, I know), the guy mucked it up and fixed/modded the console for free. He also did my Wii with a Wiikey; which is also working flawlessly btw.

I'd have someone do a PS2 as well, since it's like 20 wires.  However, the Wii mods are only 5 or 6 wires.  I haven't done mine yet, but I would guess it would not be too bad if you take your time and practiced before officially soldering.

If you've done any soldering before, you shouldn't have any problem with the Wii.  All the solder points are good size and easy to get at.

If you've never soldered anything before, find an old circuit board somewhere and practice attaching and detaching wires.  Get some solder wick and remove a few components.  This will give you a good feel for soldering before doing it on something you care about such as youer Wii.

I've got three 2000 Wii point cards and a Nyko charger for free so far.

Okay I just got my WiiKey in the mail (for some reason, I expected it to be much bigger...) anyway, is there a video or some sort of good tutorial on how to install it...?

This is the only one I've seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPiiodoSri0

It's in Spanish, so maybe someone has a better one(unless, of course, you speak Spanish).

I don't think that'll do it. XD;

Thanks anyways, though. Anyone else?

I used the install manual from the wiikey site and it worked for me.

Well, I found a guy anyway. He's doing it this weekend. Although, if I would of got him to use his mod-chip, It would of been 60$ with both Installation and for the chip. But he had a WiiFree, and I know nothing about those. So if he does it with my WiiKey, it'll cost me 40$. Including how much I paid for the WiiKey, that's nearly 100$.. but whatever, it was mostly a birthday gift, so none of this is REALLY my hard-earned money, ahaha.

Thanks alot for all your help and advice, and etc.
