I have an EZ5 with a bunch of trimmed and patched games and saves. I am most likely getting an R4 as well and I was wondering if I can share the same microSD between the two. Things like, can I use the same save files? Can I convince them to save to the same file? Can I use ROMs patched and trimmed with the EZ5 patcher on the R4 or will that open one of those nasty dimensional portals?

I used to do that between review carts since they both use clean roms.  I couldn't get them to share save files because they have different sizes and different locations, however the roms run fine.

I think that everyone but R4 uses 256mb saves while R4 uses 512mb saves so no you won't be able to.

before I sold the sc 1, I used to share the same micro sd with SC 1 and the R4, both share the same roms, but the sav file is different, the sc 1 does not create a sav file.

I have the R4 and can answer my own questions now. The EZ5 uses save files of various sizes based on the actual save size. The R4 uses 512K files no matter what, so no go there. EZ5 ROMs patched with all settings on crash on the R4. When re-trimmed with the EZ5 patcher and only the trim option on, every game I tried worked except the Castlevania games, which I had to use the R4 patcher for.

With that said is there any way to patch for an R4 without patching one game at a time?
