Get this to play GB/GBC games GOOMBA ALPHA 6

Also the following is the board where the author posts and answers questions about this software.

I have played with it a lot and it kicks butt for GB/GBC roms!

Make sure the gameboy color games are named with .gbc and the NES games .nes. Don't patch them. They should just work.

onekelly: What does that version of Goomba have over the one in the SC SD itself?

onekelly

I don't know, i alway forget that the sd has one. I know that the goomba one can save, well it does for me at least

The SC SD uses Goomba Color Alpha 6 by default.  However, there's an updated WIP build available at http://www.dwedit.org/dwedit_board/viewtopic.php?pid=1740 with several new features, including:
1.  no more walking bug in Link's Awakening
2.  no more constantly changing border colors - solid black now
3.  potential for Super Gameboy palette #1 and borders when available.
4.  a "SGB+GBC" mode that attempts to use GBC color with Super Gameboy borders - does not work for all games (Link's Awakening doesn't work, Azure Dreams does, etc)

To use it, grab the Alpha 6 download that onekelly posted.  Then go to the link I posted and grab the updated goomba.gba file, replacing the one from the Alpha 6 download.  Use the Goomba Frontend, following the instructions at http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/Goomba, to create your own *.gba compilation that contains all the GB/GBC games you want.  You'll need to send it through the Supercard patcher before it will run though.  I've had success using just the first "enable save" option checked, using the QPC method to save, but I haven't tested to see if you can patch it to work with the button combo or not.  It's less convenient than using the built-in version, but I consider the extra features to be worth it.

Thank you for the clarification.  Now I can add that to my info whenever I post it.

I love the built in emulators for the Supercard! but if we were to take them out couldn't we make a better menu
