Wow, I'm impressed with this little bit of kit so far, and I understand Corey is going to be updating his excellent tool.

Quote from: "ihopeyoudie2"i understand all the features work when combined along with software patches BUT;

1:does it support the rumble across the board(all rumble games)?

Well I ran Coreys App and set rumble to high, it then resets DS and until you power off you have a rumble pack which was picked up by metroid pinball :-) didn't test any others yet.

2:other than opera what can the ram be used for?

The Slot 2 cards can be used for DSLinux and also for PicoDrive I think also possibly one of the snes emulators - official ram cart is only used by opera, again I ran coreys app to set it to ram mode, or you can patch the opera rom using a pc to save having to keep running 2 apps to get to the web browser.

3:can you have multipule gba games on it aswell? or are you limited to what the EZ3 can hold?

I think It only does one at present, Corey has hinted he may look at this in the future, but I think he's playing with other ideas first.

I'm going to test pogoshell as that would allow you to do this - if it works on it.

Update - Couldn't get pogoshell to work

Interestingly another patcher released by rudolph uses the devices PSRAM to load games under 16MB, it's volatile so lost on power off but it's quicker to load, corey did a Proof Of Concept app using this ram so I'm sure he's got some ideas he'll develop.

All in all For £15 I'm pleased, and I can confirm it worked with my gba SP fine, I even managed to restore a really old minish cap save which I had on an SuperMemoryStick (SMS) to the card so I don't have to start over again !

The only patching necessary is patching gba roms to SRAM save, otherwise Coreys app allows you to not need to patch your DS roms to use either the RAM or Rumble.

Gets 5 out of 5 from me and I'm tempted to get another :-)

I got the elusive full size cart from Bamboo Gaming, came in about 10 days.[/i]

1: All games are suported!

2: For now just opera..  but future homebrews can use it easily..

3: you can put as many GBA game in your slot 1 card as you want.. but you always need to copy the game to NOR ( 3 in 1 flash memory )  to play it!

but you just need to write if you want play a new game.. if the game is already on 3 in 1 you can play it direcly!

GBAldr manages the GBA saves very well !!! so you do need to be scared of lost your progress! every time you switch the gba game.. your save is saved.. and the new game save is send to 3 in 1

sorry if it sounds a bit confunsing ..

thanks guys, that was really helpful.

arange

how about the daigasso expansion will work with this?
rystal white NDSL
DSONE ver.2 + SCL
Kingston Jp 1gb + ATP 1gb

I got a 3 in 1 and it works great! The only problem is that the save is corrupt on some games. On Zelda - The Minish Cap, it won't let me save. The same thing with mario pinball too. Although some are saving fine, like Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. Why do you think that is?

dantheman

You could try running the games through GBATA to patch them to use SRAM, but other than that I don't know how to fix it.

cabbage

Thanks dantheman, that program worked perfectly. :D

I think the EZ client itself will also patch to SRAM, but I'm not sure.  I know that MC uses EEPROM while Metroid Fusion uses SRAM, so it appears that this is definitely the issue.

EZ4 Client will work.

BTW, I saw from Moddz News that there is a program called ExpPack Tool that has just updated to version 1.9. Apparently, this program will allow GBA games to run from PSRAM, so you no longer have to flash a game to NOR before you can play it.

Do you think thats going to be better then GBA lder? (I haven't tested it out yet)

Here's the link to the article on moddz: http://www.moddz.com/index.php?n=modules/forum&a=3&d=1&o=16&q=1440

here's the program's homepage (if you don't have an account at moddz): http://blog.so-net.ne.jp/Rudolph/

But you will need to write to Psram every time you want to play .. and you can only use 16 MB roms..

Oh, I see. Well, thats why I asked. I had no idea what PSRAM was.  :tard: It sounded good though.

dantheman

Yeah, PSRAM is the RAM that is on the board for Opera DS compatibility, and works very similarly to the RAM in the Supercard and M3.  Quick to write to, but the data is lost upon poweroff.

Hmm Just received the 3 in 1, when i boot the tool for rumble/browser it says "Can Not Load File For Some Reason" is there something im doing wrong, gba works but i cant get advanced war to save. but FFA works like a charm, just want to get rumble and browser to run, oh and before i forget i did put the .bin file in the root of the directory do i need to rename it or something, i am using an original (first batch supercard ds one).

could you help please, rumble works on it because when i hit Y for high rumble, the rumble goes on, and vibrates.
