sorry to kinda hijack this thread, but does anyone remember a game where there were two kids and they each had a yo-yo for a weapon?  I can't think of the name of it for the life of me.

As for my suggestions, any vertical scrolling shooter. The same type as raiden for example.

Has Anyone tried MarcDS (Mame Emu for DS) with games like virtua cop and tmnt?

Perseid

I didn't know there was a MAME for the DS but I can tell you that there is 0 chance Virtua Cop is going to run on a DS.

Related to this, I highly recommend checking out http://www.arcadecontrols.com.  I just bought a house, so I now have a garage where I can build my own arcade cabinet to play MAME with authentic arcade parts.  I can't wait to finish it.

It's MarcaDS, and it's NOT based on MAME.  It just happens to use the same romsets.  There's a list of games it supports in that list above.  Most of them are very old though.

I'm making a MAME cocktail at the moment, which is sacriledge.  It's seen as much cooler to have the original boards and cabinets.  It makes me weep openly when I see pictures of mint Pacman cabs being gutted to have MAME fitted.  MAME isn't nearly 100% the same.  The fact there is probably have a million lines of code from when you move the joystick till when the sprite moves on MAME as compared to a couple of components on an original board is glaringly obvious when you compared them side by side.  Can't afford to buy anymore originals atm hence the MAME cocktail.  Here's what I've been playing mostly.

Robotron 2084 (Don't be put off by the difficulty, it's fantastic!)
Raiden
Time Pilot (this is available in Konami Classics on the DS)

There's loads more, but it depends if you played them as a kid.  Rose tinted glasses helps a lot when playing older games.

Please post picks when your done with the cocktail cabinet! I have been wanting to build one for ages but have never gotten around to actually doing it. You going by certain plans you got off the net? If you don't mind sharing with us, please let me know what plans, monitor, and sticks your gonna use.
