I recently got the game ROMs to work on my SuperCard but they don't save even though they have a sav file. Why is this?

meangreenie

To save in ds games, just save in game as a real cart.

Do not use the SC saver menu, thats for gba roms, otherwise you will just keep writing blanks to the save file.

Yes, I know, but after I do a normal save (like in pokemon go to the menu and then go to save), turn it off and back on or just restart, it loses the memory and I have to start all over. It's like that for all 6 of the new games I downloaded and patched.

Devil_Spawn

ds games or gba games?

impallion

ds games

EDIT: The games I got were Pokemon Diamond (Eng)
Pokemon Pearl (Eng)
Kirby Sqeak Squad (Eng, doesn't work cause it says corrupted save)Custom robo arena (Eng)
Bomberman touch (Eng)
Jump Ultimate Stars (Jap)

well pokemons can have a problem if you don't expnad the save file to512k, but the others should work fine..

check the ds settings, add the rom then double click the rom in the list to get to these options, note don't look at the options 'tab' as that is gba options only............... then check that the saver option is set to memory card, not ds cart

otherwise it sounds as if you have some duff hardware.

1. How do I set the saver size?

2. Do you mean memory card as in SD card or SuperCard?

meangreenie

you can't set saver size, either merge to 256k ones or just make a blank 512k file ...also theres a 1mbit (overkill) posted in the pokemon thread (page 6 i think) in the compatbilty section

set saver to sd (the memory card)

also make sure you are using the latest patcher 2.58 and 1.7 firmware file.. you can get these from the official Supercard site www.supercard.cn

edit.. and the updated .dat file ... http://eng.supercard.cn/download/ndsrominfo_slot2.rar

how make a blank one or merge the savers?

I always had the save to sd

meangreenie

http://namerehwon.no-ip.info/blank%201M%20save.nds.rar  there you go, on page 6 of the pokemon thread in compatabilty section

not sure this is your problem though as those other games should have saved fine. Maybe a reformat of your mem card may help (FAT not FAT32)

btw.. what brand of memory card are you using ?

It sounds like a mismatch between firmware/patcher versions to me.  I personally had this issue when I upgraded to 1.7 and tried to run games patched with the 2.56 patcher.  Like meangreenie said, upgrade both your Supercard firmware and your patcher, and use that updated DAT file.

impallion

I'm using a SuperCard miniSD Rumble (I think) V 1.63 and the patcher I use is called "Super Card V2.57 for SD RUMBLE PRO Version"

EDIT: This should be the software that the shop I bought the SuperCard from used and they gave me 3 CDs of games that all worked. Is it possible that it is because of where I downloaded it? (I don't really think so because I downloaded Jump Ultimate Stars from a different site and it doesn't save either)

dantheman

If you look on the Supercard website, you'll see that the 2.57 patching software was released with the 1.7 firmware, so you are indeed using a patcher that is newer than your firmware version.  Upgrade both of them using the downloads on http://eng.supercard.cn/soft_scrumble.htm

Granted, there might be a few games that will work correctly with your setup (I used 2.58 and 1.63 for a while myself), but it would be better to get everything updated.

impallion

Hmm... will the old games stop working when I update the SuperCard? Also, how do I find .scu files on my SuperCard? It's not in the game or save or option section.

EDIT: Do I have to patch the update? If not, how do I find it?

EDIT2: Do the save and game have to be the exact same name for them to work? Please try to answer one of my questions because anyone could be the problem.
