Why is my 2gb SD card only 1gb according to my PC?

Hi

NOOOOO! I've figured out the problem, and now I've recked my new 4gb card! It's all the camera's fault. When the camera tries to format any card over 1gb, it turnes the card into a 1gb card!

Now I've recked not only my 2gb microsd, I've recked my 4GB card! I was so lucky to get that card, if I ever am able to buy another it will be a year from now!

It's all my stupid camera's fault!

Please, there's got to be SOME way to restore the card. It's hard to believe one format could do this! Memory cannot just be lost like that, can it? Hardware? There's got to be a way to reverse this!

It brings me to the same thing kkan suggested I use. Tried it again anyway, and got nothing!

so, for your pc what reader are you using? your camera??/

if so that may be the reason none of the formatting tricks are working

try picking up a different sd reader, im sure they are really cheap, then repeat the process of trying sdfix and diskmgmt

EDIT: also, did you ever try putting for than 1gb files on the 4gb card???

Why would it make a diffrence?

It was a while before I realised my card wasn't holding as much stuff as it was supposed to. I only realised it about a week ago, after I'd bought the 4gb card. Your also forgetting something else...

2gb micro sd card = for use with my scdsone
4gb sd card = for use with my supercard ds

I was wondering how long it would be until you found out. BUT the reason I formatted the card with my camera in the first place was because I was hoping my camera could somehow make the card work with the scsd. :evil right back at ya:

Well, it DOES work on the scsd now, just not in the way I want it to if you know what I mean. And I didn't technecly break your card, just 3 quorters of it. (1gb out of 4gb working = 3gb out of 4gb not working = made three quorters of it not work.)

p.s.Been studying math WAY to much lately

p.p.s. Getting a new card reader is on my list of things to do. Haven't done it yet though

p.p.p.s Really random, offtopic question that just popped into my head. Does anyone happen to know what p.s., p.p.s., and so on stand for anyway?
