I have a supercard DS one and i not too sure on a couple of things.

Fist off while playing a again and you save...it seems to save to flash memory of the ds is there a way to ahve it directly save to the micro sd card??

Also i have noticed when i turn it off and on it will display a msg saying saver save...i'm assuming that this means that its writting to the SD card however if i'm playing a game and i save...is there a time limit on how long the save data is stored on the flash memory.  For example...if i save a game and then turn it off and leave it off for an hour..will that data still be stored in flash memory until i turn it on to be written to the SD card or do i have to turn it back on right away so the data will be written to the SD card.

Finally, i know you can cycle through 4 screen brightnesses however how do these effect battery life....are the different brightnesses the same as the default 4 that are on the ds and it jsut cycls through those or are these created by supercard.  I usually leave it on the the second lowest setting (one up from the lowest) so how long will the battery last off a full charge with a regualr game???

Thanks in advanced

Well first, welcome to the board :) Second, due to the "saver save" message you are getting, you are using the old firmware. Update to the latest OS here:

http://eng.supercard.cn/download/ds_eng_20sp.zip

If the data is stored to flash memory, it will stay there indefinitely so no worries about losing that information. Ther 4 brightness are the default settings built into te DS. And your battery will drain faster depending on the brightness.

No, its not normal anymore. They got rid of that message in the firmware update

Maybe im missing something here..but i downloaded my firmware from the supercard site and the zip file is exaclty the same as the link you show here....and when i load my card up there is a screen that says

save saver
please wait

how can mine say that and yours doesn't if we have the same firmware and i just installed this last week, when i got my supercard

Did you replace the shell (or scshell or whatever it is called) folder as well? Also maybe try deleting all files off your microSD, then re-install the new firmware files. This may work instead of just overwriting the files.

jeffrey

I didn't overwrite anyting the micro SD card was new so i just installed the firmware posted on the supercard site.....the same firmware thats posted in the above link.....how is yours different then mine???..don't make sense to me

Crap, I just realized this happens to me too. However, I don't mind it at all. I also cleaned out my card and uploaded the new OS, but I think I changed a setting for this to start happening.

I recall someone helpful saying on these forums that it's possible the saves are backed up on the large transistor inside the DS One, not the DS's internal flash memory. The transistor recharges itself and functions as a backup battery, and can hold a charge for quite a long time, although it is not exactly a battery itself.

I don't think that saves will disappear if it is being used on a consistent basis, but I assume it's possible that if one were to play, then turn off the DS, and not boot up the DS One for a long time, the save could be lost. I'm not sure though.
