The converter alone is here: http://rapidshare.de/files/6555459/dmvenc.exe.html

With regards to getting a smaller file size, the best thing to do is to lower the resolution. This will give you a MUCH lower file size, but will lower the quality. It seems to still run he video in full screen, but the video is being stretched from a lower resolution, if you see what I mean.

Now, I need a bit of help... I can convert small video clips fine, but if I try and do something bigger like an eppisode of futurama, it just crashes. Anyone know how to solve this?

I haven't had a problem with big files except their huge size.. the problem is you can't get the resolution too much on fansubs, or you tend to make them unreadable -_-

Um.. The translation i was looking for was Compression type translation.
Need to know what all the different settings do.

Does it matter? Bottom one is apparantly best compression, top is worst compression.

Not true. The bottom is the suggested, zlib is the best compression. But it loads a little slower.

And yes, translations DO matter if you want to understand :p

All those different options are different codecs. Just like Divx and Xvid are different codecs.

From what I can tell though... these are all apparently lossless codecs... that's why the size is horribly large. Hopefully someone will release a lossy codec for the DS eventually.

hey there, anyone could post a link to the wav*.dll required for this
converter?

I have been surfing around, but the support forums for moonshell I found are either in Japanese or Chinese and it's hard reading them.

I have some queries, hopefully someone would be kind enough to enlighten me. Here goes:

1) Am I correct to say that the version available for download is a hacked version of 0.4? And this allows direct read/write access to the CF? I take it that this is the reason why I can run mp3s off moonshell without converting it to .gbs?

2) I have been reading around and I saw some people posting some files like "MoonShell03p2[1].TextViewTweaked.rar" and some other .nds files as seen in the chinese website. Does this work as a patch to the hacked moonshell or just the original one?

3) Could someone kindly post a link to a comprehensive guide on how I can change the background, or how they did what they did to their text and picture reader in the chinese website posted in the first page.

4) Why are there people combining their mp3s into a rom? Is there a file limit to moonshell? Wouldn't placing them in directories solve the problem?

Could someone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yup, it's a hacked version

2. You already have version .4 the patch is already included

3. You have to recompile the binary to allow the background or settings to be changed, since moonshell doesn't officaly support supercard yet you can't make a new hacked binary

4. That's because there use to not be a supercard hacked version, so that was the only way to do it.

I have a question btw, do files over 32 meg work on the hacked moonshell, because I think the supercard has to be unlocked to get real direct cf access, but the hacked moonshell copies files off the cf on to the ram because of encryption, so you can still have unlimited files without putting them in a rom, but they have to be able to fit when you load them in real time. NOt sure though, but the new chrism driver is suppose to have the supercard_unlock in it and that driver is going to be what makes supercard supported by everything

thanks for the replies... do you happen to know where I can download the driver (dll) for the movie converter? thanks.

Yes, files over 32megs work on it, that's why it was hacked , so it could read off of the cf/sd card

Just download the standard moonshell 3rd beta from here:
http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/files/20051020_moonshell04_m3_r6.zip

Extract that, the converter with all the normal moonshell files should be in that zip.

QuoteYou can customize.
Just take original Moonshell, unzip it, and rename & copy your _BOOT_MP_EXFS_sd.nds to _BOOT_MP.nds in your unzipped moonshell directory. Probably will ask to overwrite old _BOOT_MP.nds (rename old file before overwriting if you want it).
modify files in files/.shell directory, and execute WriteFiles_IMFS.bat generated file has new settings, and still works with SC (at least I tested with SC SD) maybe could be a problem to change codepage... I didn't test it. sorry.

hELLO,

I tried to customize the hacked version of moonshell made by romman for use with SD SC, i tried using the write IMFS method, the one showed to me in this quoted text,  (substituing the oriiginal moonshell with the romman one) but i get an error wen aunch it in my ds!!!

has anyone modified it successfully ?

any tutorial thanks???
