Has it been announced whether the R4 and M3S will be able to use the new 4GB Micro SDHC cards?

Since the devices support FAT32 there should be no problem with the larger capacity although you won't garner the extra performance from the SDHC spec.

I thought that the SDHC would have to have special support, e.g. normal sd card readers will  not be able to read/write from them.

The quote is from the link below.

I think 2GB is enough for my needs. The only flashcard that suports this new SDHC is Cyclo Evolution. Read on their page: "Supports the MicroSDHC specification, allowing for high capacity memory cards" http://www.cyclopsds.com/cgi-bin/cyclods/engine.pl?page=products-cyclodsevolution

2gb is ample enough for me too using TRIM I have 52 roms and some dpg videos too and a few mp3s along with homebrew and snes roms and sega megadrive roms and emulators and also have doom on there too and still have 300mb spare  :)

wow, how much the trimmer trim on ds roms? I probably have around 20 something and they add up to about 1 gig untrimed. Can you trim homebrew too?

It depends on the game.  Usually you can save at least a few megabytes per game with trimming.  Homebrew files should not be trimmed.

I've tried the 4GB SDHC on the M3s and R4, it will not work.
