Is there a zelda homebrew game?

Indeed there is, by Lupidan.  He created the homebrew for an event called z3, an E3-like event held by ZFGC aka Zelda Fan Game Central, of which he was previously an active member (not so much anymore).  Unfortunately, it appears to only run on certain devices, as I've heard slot-1 users who could not get it to run at all.

If you're a member of DCemu you can download it from http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/nintendo-ds-homebrew-games-31283.html

Otherwise you can probably find it on Google using keywords like DS, Zelda, Lupidan, homebrew, etc.

I find it rather fun, but I still can't beat the boss =/

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully I can get it to run on the G6.

EDIT:

And this is a little off topic, but is it just me, or is there hardly ever a link to actually download the homebrew games off of DS News?

You have to have an account on the forums, as the download links are usually attached to the messages, but to download the attachment you have to be signed in.  It's not a very good method, I'll agree, but at least they keep local copies of most homebrew, which is good for when the official site goes down.

Darthk, it might, it might not.  Why don't you try it yourself?

Hi

THIS GAME IS SO HARD! Has anyone gotten past the first level? It seems near impossible for non-supernatural people

There's only the one level to begin with, so once you beat it, you're done.  I agree that it's fairly difficult though, but I'd say it's just the right difficulty in that you can get through it after a couple of tries.  The main one that killed me every time was the one with the spiked log chasing you up, but I eventually got fast enough to beat it.  The boss too was hard, but if you're familiar with Zelda items you should be able to figure out how to hurt him.
