Okay I know it cant play gba roms but it can play ds roms right. Also I know it can play some hombrew but what about nes games, snes games,gameboy/color games? also is moonshell installable cause I want music mp3s. And if I have my music playoing can I close the ds and still play it and press L and R to switch tracks thanks!

I also read that it CAN! play gba roms but they have to be under 32mb is this true I will post link if needed.

The Supercard Lite Rumble can't run GBA games because it doesn't have RAM like the classic Supercard Lite. The RAM has been replaced with the Rumble feature.  Yes, all Supercard versions will run DS games and most homebrew.

You can play NES/SNES games by using homebrew emulators . . .
http://www.dev-scene.com/NDS/Emulators
Keep in mind some of these emulators are work in progress and are not perfect.  Unfortunaltly Supercard Rumble series can't play GBA homebrew that emulates gameboy/color games.

Yes, moonshell will work with all Supercard versions and can play music with the lid closed. L and R works with the lid closed.

Nope, not with Supercard Rumble series. However you will have the benefit of the rumble feature when playing DS games.

Thanks for the help man! I cant wait to get it!! Also there is no stand alone gamboy/color emulators?

I have DS RUMBLE MINI SD carts .. and thats their only downfall is lack of gba and homebrew but ... I already had GBA flash carts so that was not an issue for me :)  as the GBA CARTs  can also be used for emulation nes/genesis(megadrive),mastersystem etc and it works fine in the DS slot 2  :)

to be honest GBA flash carts are pretty cheap now for older models (1gbit) or even older 256m for even less no doubt :)

So every emulator works exept for gba?

There are some very good emulators written for GBA (Goomba etc) that will not work with the Rumble series.  You can however run emulators written specifically for DS like the ones I linked to above.

Not sure if you mis-understand me ... I have an (EZFLASH III) gba type cart that I use for genesis, nes, snes, gamegear emulation and just use that in the SLOT 2 with my DS as the SUPERCARD rumble isnt very compatible with emulators or homebrew as it lacks the RAM that they removed and added the rumble instead :)

Reason I got the rumble it was cheaper than the other other SUPERCARDS available at the time or purchase  :)

FOR DS only Its a great cart  :)

Hm, perhaps the dev-scene site should add some info on DSBoy/GNUboy DS/whatever it's called now.  Originally called DS_GBC and available at http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/gbemuds.shtml, it was later modified by Mateus to include DLDI support and a file browser (source).  In that same GBAdev thread, GPF modified it and added his own sound streaming support along with some speed and graphical fixes.  It's currently available at http://gpf.dcemu.co.uk/gnuboy_ds.rar and http://gpf.dcemu.co.uk/DSBoysrc.rar (must copy and paste into url bar or else you'll get redirected to the DCEmu main page).

Note that with the very first version, you must name it "game.gb" and use the batch file to merge it into the emulator core.  With the DLDI versions, you can have your games anywhere on your card but they must end in .gbc for it to find them.

EDIT:  w00t, a new GB emulator for the DS has been released!  More info at http://ds-scene.net/forum/pforum.php?act=1&publicforum=5&topic=696 and a mirror for you guys (since MyTempDir is loaded with ads) is http://dannysied.googlepages.com/lameboy_ds-0.1.zip
Many games run at fullspeed, there's save support, and you can change games without rebooting the DS.  No sound, but still fairly awesome.

going to bump and add to this thread as its relevant

since the update of firmware 1.81 loads of homebrew now works fine such as SNEmulDSv05b  Picodrive and LAMEBOY just fine on the RUMBLE :)

Glad to hear that Lameboy runs on the Rumble series, as it's becoming a seriously good emulator, comparable to Goomba Color even.  I'm highly impressed with the audio quality of 0.8 considering that it has to emulate all sounds in software.  Goomba Color merely passes all audio commands to the GBC sound chip in the GBA, so it doesn't waste time trying to emulate sound when the hardware is right there to be used, but this sound chip is not accessible in DS mode.

In other news, I've made a few PHWiki pages about GBC emulation on the DS that may be enlightening:

Nice info there dan thanks for taking the time out to write these wiki infos :)

have to agree with you with about lameboy taking over ... with goomba I found it a pain in the a** to have to keep making a new compilation of roms to use with my EZ-FLASH 3 card.... its so much easier now with lameboy to add a few roms and just delete the rubbish ones instead of having to make another compilation into a single file rom :)
