I currently own an R4, and want to get a Slot 2 flashcart for GBA games. Which one is compatible with the most number of GBA games?

You could try the EZ 3 in 1 expansion, you flash it from the R4 and it holds 1 game at present, but if you get the full size one it can be flashed from DS and used on GBA.

If you want a real Flash Cart with removable media just avoid the supercard slot 2, there are many speed issues on GBA

I tested EZFlash II , EZFlash IV Deluxe, EZV Expansion, Supercard SD, G6 and M3 Perfect. I recommend all of them, except the EZV Expansion and Supercard SD. EZV Expansion has many issues related to transfer games to its memory and saves... and Supercard SD has serious slowdowns in many games...

I have an EZ-FLASH III  :) works great plays everything and you can emulate on/with it too :)

I'd probably go with G6Lite for GBA. I actually have to think about this myself soon, as one of my EFA carts recently broke (moment of silence please), leaving me with only one. Sucks.

depends on the type of ds you have.  If you have a lite I would go with the EZ4 lite deluxe because that thing is a beast at gba.  If you have a ds phat you should go with one of the gba only for the best features with gba including real time saving and the works.

I have a Supercard SD and I do not recommend it for GBA games. The majority of games work fine but some games have unpleasant slowdowns. I also have an EZ-5 expansion pack and while I haven't had any problems with it as metalcaipira seems to have, I'm not sure I can recommend that either. It is said to be 100% compatible, and my experience has not shown otherwise. It can only hold one game at a time, though, and it is very slow(up to 2 minutes) to rewrite a new game.

EZ-Flash IV Mini-SD (if playing in a GBA as well) is what I use and it's great for GBA games. Auto saving, perfect speed, and takes a mini-sd for storage upgradability. If you only want to use it in your DS Lite, get EZ-Flash IV Lite, it's exactly the same but uses Micro-SD cards.

I also recommend the G6 Lite. It runs every GBA game flawlessly. It only has 512mb of space, but if all you're going to use it for is GBA games, you're going to hold a ton. I have about 70 on mine right now. And that's with a couple DS games, and a homebrew game.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

Does the G6 lite require any patching like the Supercard?

h8uthemost

Yeah, there's a patcher for the G6 Lite. Also for the M3 And EZ IV too.

I can't recommend the G6 Lite for GBA use.  Game compatibility is very good, but the menu system is horrible in many ways.  First, ROMs are listed by their header name, not by their filename, so it's very difficult to pick the right game from the list.  The list is also navigated by a really lame mouse pointer controlled by the D-pad.  It's maddening, really.

GBA roms don't need to be patched when running on M3 Perfect. M3 also runs the GBA roms zipped. I think it's the best solution cause it runs clean gba roms or zipped roms. But if you don't mind about patching, G6 Lite and EZ II III IV are great options too. Run away from Supercard.

dai_uk

Woah Didn't know it ran zipped roms, that is amazing, how long does it take to load a game

@metalcaipira ....m3 can't run zipped gba roms, c'mon stop the crap dude

the supercards actually can (old patchers have a compression feature that still works), but with the slow-down probs with gba on sc this cool feature doesn't get the recognition it deserves (or 'deserved' since gba support on gba was stopped a long time a go)
Yes I'm mad
