1.  You need to flash your DS for DS Link, and chances are, because you made a post like this, you don't have a flashed DS.
2.  Ninjapass isn't too good from what I hear, although they still have updates going.  I haven't had any personal dealings with it, so I won't comment further.
3.  It is the same as an R4.  The updates come a day slower than the R4.
4.  Good cart, but not many extra features, only good thing is that it supports the EZ Flash 3 in 1 natively.
5.  Very easy to use.  Probably your best choice.

dw. ive been through a scsd and scsdr. i have my ds flashed...
one more question. if i get the r4, can i still get my saves from my scsd straight onto the r4? or do i have to start all over? i know theres a converter but that only have sccf.

felix

Just get a R4. Low priced and easy to use.

I personally really like the DSLink, if you have your DS flashed, it isn't a bad choice.  But keep in mind that most of their support is on the Chinese forums, and if you can, get a Chinese DSLink because updates come at least a week faster, etc.  But if you can't read Chinese, there really is no point because they really don't do much for the English customers.  Did you know that the DSLink has by far the largest cheat library in comparison to R4 or SCDS One?

You need to convert your SCSD saves with a program that comes with the R4 or with one of those third party converters.  It is quite a quick process.

I went from a slot 2 SC (mini) to a R4 - there is a converter app which comes with the R4 (you can also download it form the R4 website) which converts your saves from SC to R4 format.  All the ones I have tried worked fine (about 10 games in all).

One thing to remember - the R4 uses clean roms (.nds files), so any roms you converted to run on the SC will not work - you need to go back to the unconverted rom files (hope you still have them).

Dave.

It's nice to be nice.

Would you care to backup your opinion with some supporting details?

The r4 is utter shite.

That was such an intelligent post. Thank you for sharing with us your so-called "opinion".

I honestly haven't had a lot of experience with different slot ones... I can only say the only thing I've ever had was an R4 and I picked it after researching all the slot 1's that were out at the time. I definitely don't regret it in the least. Great support, lots of new features have been added since it's release, plays everything I've tossed at it flawlessly, etc etc.

As for that person upset at R4, he's having problems with his... it was a bit uncalled for to say that all R4's are bad just because he either did something incorrectly, or he has a bad micro SD, or he was really unlucky and got a one in a million broken R4 that he could easily return and get a new one.

i have an R4/M3 simply, and a 16Gb Dslinker/ultraflashpassex/xpresscard.

I used to prefer my M3 DS Simply, because the xpresscard had a slow menu, but that's been fixed with the latest DSLinker firmware, and Now I would say it's my favourite cart due to full compatibility, and not needing to worry about microSD speed.

[edit] Just to clarify, I have a couple other slot-1 carts, but these have ended up being my favourites [/edit]

Yeah, I agree with sneef. The clones are excellent carts.

If you want a great internal memory flash cart, go with one of the clones. Or the G6 DS Real. But...if have your heart set on a external memory cart, then I suggest spending the few extra dollars more(than the R4) and getting the CycloDS(I think this is my new favorite cart). I am very impressed with it so far. It hasn't left my DS since i got it. Also get a Japan made microsd with it.
