I have a Sandisk 2GB that does crack with PoR on my R4. It's played everything else just fine so far, though. If you already have a setup to play the Castlevania games(which I do) I think the Sandisk makes a fine second card.

Lol, superzap, that is because you are a noob! There is no such thing as a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB! Many UK users have been scammed by this device that is mainly only for sale in that country. You can check any of the links for more info on the fake SD ULII 2GB.

To prove that there is such a thing as a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB microsd I scanned the inlay of the blister pack I bought:

and one more thing: I didn't buy it from any dodgy crooks but from amazon.de who only sell genuine stuff ! --> So it's not just available in the UK as said on Moddz News!
I'm sure it was SANDISK themselves who messed the whole thing up and now they try to blame others for it!
Why haven't they issued a warning!?!
Those cards have been sold all over Europe for 6 months and they still are! If they were fake SANDISK would have reacted!!!

I think I may have found a good fast 2GB micro SD, but I find it questionable partly because:
1. It's a brand name I've never heard of (FileMate)
2. There's no reviews on it (from what I can find) anywhere. (I've googled and it and everything)
3. It's 60X, that seems a bit high for its price.

yeah, i just saw that today and 60x would be amazing, note: would be amazing. however its probably another rip off like kingmax which said it was 60x and it was, but the random access is  2.4mbs and  AVR speed was7.7mbs. as i stated before just get the dam kingston japan 2gb microsd.

You can scan anything you want and it will appear real as SanDisk has admitted to shipping out the SanDisk 2GB microSD to Verizon (originally) and to Europe before realizing the devices were packaged incorrectly. I contacted them on the matter and they said if you contact them after paying more money for the Ultra II version they will compensate you for your troubles. They admit that the devices were branded with the Ultra II moniker even-though they were the standard model. And still unless you have the SanDisk Mobile Premier 2GB, there is no such thing as the Ultra II 2GB.

I am not trying to hurt you but help you..

SANDISK just sucks!! as they all come from Taiwan.
Yesterday I got myself 2 KINGSTON microsd 2GB from JAPAN for only â,¬20 each (8â,¬ cheaper than SANDISK!) and they really kick ass!!
They're as fast as the 1GB version (32 of 32x manually set) and by that there are no slowdowns in any game!!
They are among the cheapest but most reliable cards available.

They're certainly rebadged TOSHIBAs just like the 1GB version!

Remember: All cards made in JAPAN are many times faster than the ones from TAIWAN! So always make sure you buy a JAPANESE one!!!!

The KINGSTON microsd 2GB are awesome!!
They're cheap and reliable, simply the best cards available!!

I'm glad I could get 2 of them at my local dealer (so I could easily check their origin: JAPAN )

Yeah, your efforts are very well appreciated johnny. I think I'm going to order me 2 more 2GB Kingston from  DZ Tech. One for my R4, and one for my upcoming EZ V.

You have no idea how many times I see morons posting that 2GB Japan made Kingstons don't exist. How did you find out about that site? Have you always ordered from there and one day saw they had them?

i had been researching for about month about the fastest 2gb microsd and i had only found a 2gb microsd toshiba on ebay which is the same as fast but it was 50 dollars when one day i came across what i had been waiting for a 2gbmicrosd japan. it was hard to believe so i email the guy twice just to make sure. i order 2 and when they arrive and i saw there were japanese i almost cry : . eversince i promise the guy i would help him be advertise.

Lol...I emailed the guy about it too when I saw your thread. I asked him to reassure me that those 2GB Kingstons were indeed Japan made. And he emailed me back that same day confirming it. I was like, "hell yes".

Yeah, so I gotta order a couple more this weekend. I've also been advertising his site. I just hope he doesn't run out.

Have you heard any news about Kingston bringing out a 4GB microsd? Japan made? This is the microsd that I really want. I couldn't careless about those 4GB microsdhc's. I don't know how fast they are. At least I know that a 4GB Kingston Japan will be fast.

so far the fastest 2 gb micro sd that I have tested are the toshiba which reads at over 18MB/s, I will be getting the kingston version, both taiwan and japan version and will test the speed soon.

I'm a bit peed off having read this; I've just bought a new R4 from Model Gadgets with a 2 Gb card (my son having "lost" the last one with a 1Gb Kingston Japan). It looks like he is supplying the crappy SanDisks (3Mb in and out!).

Hopefully, this should be OK for the games that he plays. I don't see why the guy is selling these if he is such a specialist in this area. The Kingstons and Toshiba can be obtained for the same price, but I didn't want to spend any more on shipping. We'll see!
