I am trying to get rid of the supercard background ussing ratx's patcher, but the new_msforsc.nds file i end up with doesn't work, it still has the supercard background when i put the new_msforsc file in. and i also get all these files called part1, part3, wallpaper.bin.fixed and wallpaper when i run the patcher. do i need any of these? it just says in the readme to replace the new_msforsc with the old one

with the new loader you will have to use supercard one msforsc “parts maker” to get the part 1 & part 3 then replace them in the Supercard One OS 2.x wallpaper patcher 0.2 folder

Actually you just need http://blog.dev-scene.com/ratx/archives/16 the 0.2 version includes the parts_maker thing in the batch script now.

So just put your existing msforsc.nds in the patcher dir and run go.bat

just rename the new_msforsc to just msforsc

ok..  im not getting it

can you tell me what im doing wrong?
i get the msforsc.nds file and put it SCONE_SKINNER folder, then i run go.bat
once i have done that i get a new_msforsc.nds file, part1 file, part2 file, wallpaper BIN file and a wallpaper.bin.fixed FIXED file.
i then rename the new_msforsc.nds file to MSFORSC.NDS and put it on my supercard but i still end up with that evil supercard logo

and whats that msforsc parts maker thing do i even need to click on that?

Are you using the latest version? ( 0.2 from the link above ). If not get that put your wallpaper.png and the msforsc.nds in the skinner directory and just run go.bat. If it still isn't working can you post the output from go.bat?

you used a wallpaper.png image ( less then 12k ) other then that will not work!

please post the output dialog here!

Im using the wallpaper image that was included with the skinner just so i know the wallpaper isn't the problem

heres the first output i get, but when i run go.bat again i get a different one 



and heres the second one...

hi. The different output you get is normal; the batch script tries to delete old files when you run it - and the first time you run it the old files aren't there. Thanks for the screenshots - everything looks normal / fine to me. So you put the newly created new_msforsc.nds as msforsc.nds on your supercard one and you still get the default logo? Odd. You have a slot 1 supercard right?

yep its PNG, im using the wallpaper that was included with the skinner so i know its not the problem. so just to check all the other files apart from new_msforsc.nds i get when i run go.bat i dont need? for example part1, part3, wallpaper.bin.fixed. im guessing thats just normal?

i guess i will be stuck with that evil supercard logo then??!!
i must be doing something wrong, maybe ive got a faulty supercard

Have you tried downloading someone elses skin pack complete with a msforsc.nds? I actually can't think of anything else that could go wrong / or that it could be caused by faulty hardware. Can you try generating a checksum of the msforsc.nds then new_msforsc.nds before and afterwards? That would show if its been changed or not...  Its not actually possible for the skinner to generate a msforsc.nds with the original wallpaper...

http://www.toast442.org/md5/ md5 gui - check "generate checksum" and drag drop the 2 files into it.

ok... i just tried putting brazilian beauty skin on made by dudu.exe on my supercard, and i just replaced everything with the new skin.
but that supercard logo is still there!!!!!
when i press L + A it just switches the screens around. the picture of the girl is on the bottom screen and all the things on my micro sd are on the top screen.. i'm confused now..

anyways heres a screen shot of what i got when i generated that checksum, i'm not sure what to look for
