Do You Finish Games?

What Percent Of Games You Start, Do You Finish?

I Finish All Games I Start
I Finish Most The Games I Start
I Rarely Finish Any Game I Start
I Have Yet To Ever Finish A Game

DeVS

I have developed a bad habit of not finishing games I start. Hell even games I love I tend to leave unfinished (still haven't finished Super Paper Mario for the Wii) and start a new game. I think my problem is that I "get" to many games for my moded system and have an overload of new stuff so I never finish what I start because I want to try the "release of the week" game. Anyone else have the same problem or are there hardcore fellas who finish what they start?

ah, you can never truly finish a game. it's not being that it's too hard, just getting the "good" endings and doing all the sub quests that take time!

DeVS

I generaly finsh any games in these series:

Mario
Zelda
Rachet & Clank (though I got pissed at the PSP version where you fight the plane thing while your on the pedestal and quite, lol)
Onimusha

Other than those I rarely make through an entire game.

I am exactly the same way. I haven't even finished the big games like FF 12. I have too many systems and too many games. If I were to stop getting games and just play what I have now I could probably have my grandchildren halfway through my ROMs. Oh, well. It looks like I really might finish Phoenix Wright, though.

I start many but finish few.  ::) I wish I had more time. Between my DS, PS3 and PSP I'm overwhelmed with games to play.

I tend to be quite obsessive-compulsive when it comes to finishing games. Yet to give up on a DS game so far, but the 3 that I've yet to beat are FF7 (right before last battle due to boredom from chocobo breeding), Star Ocean 2 (before last boss as well due to memory card being corrupted) and Shinobi on PS2 (last boss way too hard for me...)

Dudu.exe

Thats why i dont play more then one game at the time!

I Rarely Finish Any Game I Start    4 (44.4%)

Its like a newer, cooler game comes along as I am playing the other game.  Eventually I DO get back to it though and finish it within years.  I never really finish a game in a timely manner though.

I almost never finish what I start.

For my PS collection [over 160 games], I didn't even start a good portion of them.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

Arent we all. lol

I tend to finish most of the games I start.  I limit myself to AAA titles that are in genres that interest me.  If I try out an unusual game and I don't see myself finishing it, I'll quit right away.

Anyone else here who thinks that with the increased dominance of the Wii and casual gaming in general, more and more gamers are coming to expect quick, short games... and as a result breeding a new generation of gamers with short attention spans?

DeVS

I don't think it comes down to a short attention span, I think it comes down to not having time to set down and complete a 50 -80 hour game. Most adult gamers have jobs, kids, wifes, ect and have little time for games and I believe thats why the Wii is shining, it has games that allow you to get 30mins to an hour of fun game play but also has a couple of 40 to 60 hours games thrown in there too. But I agree ZzzZilla things are changing in the industry.

i only play my ds at work on my breaks if i dont have anything to watch on my pocket pc which is very rarely
i think ive only played it for 40 mins in two week
but i do finish games when i start them i finished lunar legend (GBA) last month which took 22 hours :smitten:
& im 7 hours into Pokemon pearl which i will eventually finish

Altor

Depends on what you mean by "finish", I guess.  More often than not, I'll finish games, but if it's excessively long or gets boring/repetitive, I play something else...  I almost never make an effort to find all the hidden stuff in a game.  I've only done that twice: Super Metroid and Castlevania DoS.

PCs being what they are, often times I'll get half way through a game and forget about it for a bit, intending to come back to it later, then lose my savegames for whatever reason.  After that, I'm too disheartened to start again.
