Thanks all for the help. Got it to work with no hitches and the upgraded Supercard 1.52 works with my DS, SP2, and Micro. I do have a few minor questions though.

1. Is there any differences in 1.44 versus 1.52. Slower loading of GBA games or compatibility in GBA games?

2. Since I am using the Superpass... is there anyway to boot in GBA with it in... or do I simply need to remove the Superpass?

3. The Superpass works fins, but I can see why people like the Flashme. Are there any downfalls if I decide to use the Flashme? Any problems noted when using GBA games or any type of know glitches at all?

Thanks again

Did you upgrade successfully with the mysd_for_NDS_PassMe.bin and UPGRADE.scu provided in the original reply? Also, do you have the SD version? Just curious, mine comes in next week and I want to make sure those are the correct steps.

1. There was a difference in them, I'm not sure what... when the firmware was updated to 1.50, everything made with the 1.44 converting software didn't work. Now in 1.52, things made with the 1.44 conversion software work again.

2. Not that I've found.

3. in GBA mode, flashme isn't even activated. There won't be any problems with the DS in GBA mode. As I've noted before, there are a couple glitches in DS mode. Primarily Lost in Blue won't work with flash me, and the text telling you what to do in minigames doesn't appear in wario ware.

Thanks again,

If I use Flashme... you say it doesn't really work on a few games... for those games, can I still use my Superpass? So essentially I am asking if I can have Flashme on my system and still be able to use my Superpass if I want?

UScr00ge,

Yes,,, I used the mysd_for_NDS_PassMe.bin that I got from this site. All you do is choose it like you would a game and it upgrades to 1.5. then I used the Upgrade.scu and got to 1.52. Works perfectly. I did that on the SD version... and I have 2 of them. I am keeping my CF versions at 1.44... that way I have the best of both worlds.

Flashme is only activated when you press the key combo abxy or if you have a cart named DSBooter or PASS, if all of those are false than it works just like regular DS firmware (minus the startup differences)
S Setup:
1st Gen DS
Flashme 5 w/ Superpass and Supercard SD
Limited edition Miyamoto signed orange DS Skin
Limited edition Kirby! pink stylus
Now Playing: Nintendogs w/ Jack Russel Terrier

So in order to use the Flashme... you have to startup using the ABXY key combo... otherwise it boots normaly... less the Hazard screen?

Then if I do not boot using the Flashme ABXY... then I could use the Superpass?

Has there been any reports that the Flashme harms the system in anyway or that you cannot use normally store bought game cards?

1. yes
2. yes
3. not yet!*

*there have been unconfirmed reports out of Spain regarding a flashme'd system being used to test a legitimate test copy of Mario Kart DS, and having the flash-able are of the firmware overwritten, or screwed up.  I don't think this is a deliberate attack on 'flashme' by nintendo.  I think the wifi information may be written to the same area as flashme... but there is no doubt that loopy, natrium, or somebody will come up with a solution.

also, this is obviously not a retail release copy of mario kart. so don't worry.  and you can always use the file 'noflashme' and uninstall the flashme.  it's easy.

It's almost assured that any WiFi enabled game will contain an updated firmware for the DS. If this new firmware requires something from the SL1 protected part of firmware, this could cause a crash since it obviously won't be there (or will have been altered by flashme)

This would hopefully be fixable with a different version of flashme, or you could always go back to the default DS firmware. The only thing that REALLY scares me is that the updated firmware that'll come with wifi enabled games will almost assuredly "patch" the holes in the original firmware that allowed you to flashme to begin with.
