I've had a really long look at what people have been saying, and i was pretty set on getting a SCDS1 for my DSL im ordering soon.

However, i really want to play some specific old games, and i've now erad i cant do that because of it not having enoguh RAM.

What combination of cards would allow me to play GB/GBC/GBA/DS games on my ds?

The only option so far looks like SuperCard Lite (Slot2) and a SuperKey, but from Amazon it is £75 which is really expensive.

I don't want to risk flashing, since it seems really risky and i could void my warranty.

If i got a SuperCard Lite slot2 card, could i run DS games from it without a Superkey, or anything in slot1?

If you can answer these questions, i would be really grateful if you could give me links to the exact products, since they all look really similiar, expeically with all the abbreviations going on.

thanks.

you need to either flash your ds or use a superkey to run ds games from slot 2 :)

for best of everything have a SLOT 1 card and a SLOT 2 CARD or any slot 1 card and the EZFLASH 3 in 1 slot 2 expansion card :)

If your buying for the UK I recommend shop01 media although based in sweden they offer excellent service to the UK :)

others recommend places in the UK but I've had excellent service from MARCUS and the team at shop01 :)

well, after thinking about it, the number of games on GBA i want could only account for maybe 5% of the total games i want, so i guess that its much more pratical to buy a plain SuperCard DS1.

Now the question is:

should i get a R4/M3/SuperCard DS1?

ATM i am going for R4, since it seems the most user friendly.

and also, from this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FriCKjwdQFQ i get the impression that an R4DS package comes with 2 cartridges, one black, one white. Can someone confirm this?

I think they stopped sending both white and black some time ago, and now you just get one color.  Regardless, yes the R4 and M3 Simply are more user-friendly, though the Supercard does offer advanced options if you're willing to learn how to use them.

Most GB/GBC games can be run via the Lameboy emulator, but running GBA files would require a slot-2 device as you have found out.  If you don't really care too much about them though, slot-1 devices are easier to use for DS games.

If its just 5% of gba games you really want to play then use VISUAL BOY ADVANCE and play them on the PC as a quick alternative ... not portable but cheaper than buying a slot 2 card if you only want a quick blast on a GBA game  ;)
