I wat to buy some items on eBay, so can anyone tell me if its safe or not?  if there any way to recover stolen money?

brujagio

It really depends on who you're buying from. Make sure to check the seller's feedback, I usually don't get something unless feedback is 99, or 100 percent. I've never had a problem where I needed to get my money back, however my aunt ordered some expensive printer awhile back, it was never sent and her money was never returned. I rarely ever get stuff from ebay anyways, since the shipping price is always way to high.

My Music

Nearly all of my songs are made with Fruity Loops, except for one where I used Reason. I recommend looking at my ambient stuff, and staying away from old songs, which are pretty crappy.

Vapourstreak

alright thanks.  What about the 4gb memory stick PRO duo's that cost $1.00 USD?

sinkhead

They are fake. I wouldn't recommend buying memory off eBay. Other things are OK but 50% of the memory on there is fake...

LOL $1.00 USD... BUT.... I bet if you check the postage its about $45.00 USD usually the case to get the item listed without much listing charge they post stuff low priced .. then hit you with an over the top Postage charge to equal out the actual cost of the item!

additional to the fakes comment heres a post that tells you how to tell fakes apart from the real ones fake sony mem sticks warning

heres another pic thats dead obvious

note the dead obvious crude edit to remove any SONY logos!

this is a REAL SONY PRO DUO

note the obvious difference in color :)

Buying MEM cards I would recommend buying from a reputable retailer or from an actual store where you can go buy it direct  :)

more so if you want a GENUINE SONY PRO DUO  :)

its actually pretty funny how little effort scammers put in to try to sell their product.

I have completed close to 300 transactions on eBay without loosing any of my money. In fact some the best deals I've made have been with eBay members with less than 20 transactions. Just try to use good judgement, read the descriptions thoroughly, check the sellers rating and history, and watch out for inflated shipping cost. Buying and selling with PayPal provides some level of protection. Never pay cash.  Beware of deals that seem too good to be true. Beware of buying high priced items from members with only a few transactions. Ebay is a great place to shop if you avoid the small number of scumbags thiefs that try to ruin it for everyone.

thanks.  just oprdered a couple of PSP accessores.  lets hope i recieve them.  o btw, the s&h cost it REALLY high.

FYI, for the people  who sell them for 1 dollar+50 dollars shipping do it because when you have a premium/business paypal account for ebay, they will take money out of the sale but not the shipping.  So you might lose 1 cent instead of a dollar.   They also might do it so stupid people think they are only gonna pay a dollar, but IDK lol

I have had overall good experiences with eBay. I have seen the scams, though I have never fallen for any. They are pretty obvious.

As was said before don't buy memory sticks. If you're buying a PSP and the guy is including his 2GB stick that's probably fine but buying one by itself is asking for trouble.

I don't buy batteries, either. If an auction says it's a 2500mah battery there's a good chance it's a crappy 750mah and that's very hard for a typical consumer to prove.

I saw a 3900mAh battery  should i buy it?

Altor

Don't buy anything you haven't heard of.  Don't buy anything with a total closing price of less than 75% of what you'd pay in a store.  Follow those two rules and you'll be a lot safer.

I've completed about 20 ebay transactions over the last couple years, all successful.  Even when I did stupid things like buy unbranded RAM, haha.

Devil_Spawn

my unbranded ram works perfectly ;)... and my supercard... and my sd card.... etc etc

jmr

ive got 100% rating over 40 transactions on ebay since 2002
ive never had any problems but i had to relist one item once cause it was bid on by a Nigerian scamster :knuppel2:
(who wanted me to post the item to his sick daughter then she would send me my money when she got it  ;D)

Vapourstreak

i cant seem to sell stuff on ebay.  guide?
