Do you know if it is possible to use forms in this?  I can't get them working, so its pretty senseless to make google the home page  :-\

What's the best way to find out what port I need to use? I know my IP address but I have no idea what port(s) I'm using.

when you start the dshobro server you select what port you want to enter in on your DS.

the question Adzma is trying to establish .. is what port should be used in the port settings :)

my suggestion would be maby try your browser default port.. which is usually 80 or 8080  :)

oh well he said he had no idea what port he was using, not what port to use.  Do those two work better than any random number?

DEPENDS.. But usually 80 and 8080 are usually the first couple of useful open ports on a router used for webbrowsing :)

you could also use default standard email ports ....110 email incomming port or 25 email outgoing port :)

these are pretty much standard ports on most router/net settings  :)

other ports may have to be forwarded in the router config/setup page (consult the router manual or router makers homepage for more info) :)

as to if they work better ... not really its just easier to use ports that are easily accessible/already open..and without forwarding or messing about :)

using control panel network connections is no use if you have manually set your IP to use a router on a network you will only see your set IP not your internets IP  :(
