Ok ok I retract it.  Although, I find trimming very valuable since I only have 1GB of memory

I have 2 gb but always trimmed until now ...so I have loads of space left for DPG films 

But will be leaving a couple un trimmed of my fav games so can do download play with workmates

Where is Trim Tool 2.0? Maybe that's why all of the trimmed games were failing download play - you all were using ROMs trimmed with 1.0. Or am I missing something?

ROM TRIM TOOL 2.0 is the one avail from R4 website here But it does not support BATCH trimming and you cannot use it with ZIP files 
trimmer I was using was the one that comes with R4 COMMANDER and that kills the download play doh!

Just use NDSTokyo Trim. It's probably the best trimmer out there, plus it keeps the RSA intact, so you can use download play. And also does all the things kkan mentioned.

Oh, I'm sorry kkan. I just mentioned it because I figured you might ask, or wonder why I just didn't provide a link for the trimmer. And unfortunately, you can't copy and paste on it. So...I didn't mean to post something un-useful like that.

Anyways, I'm glad you found it. It's a pretty cool trimmer isn't it? I started using it when I got my Evo, and some posters were going on and on about it on the TeamCyclops board. So I tried it out, and that's all I've been using since.

By the way...what version of the trimmer did you get it? Is it v0.4? I was just wondering if there has been a newer release yet.

EDIT: Nevermind, 0.42 is out. So I had an older version. He finally made it to where the program remembers your output folder. Very nice. It's finally the perfect trimmer.

works fine for me

maby worth copying all your stuff to the computer formatting the mem card and putting the new kernel on from scratch and then copying your stuff back minus the old kernel files ...(don't forget to copy back your themes )
