Ive got a supercard ds one, everything works fine no games are choppy or anything like that, menu save works and everything else seems fine except sometimes the games im playing wont save. For example ive been playing pokemon diamond and saved it 42mins in and turned my game off. When i went to play it again later the save was there and worked fine and i played for another hour or so and saved it again, when i turned my game back on i was all the way back to 42mins having lost an hour of my game
can anyone help me out here with what could be going wrong?

Make sure the save is 512kb if not so already.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl saves have caused problems for many people, not just SCDS1 owners. Do other games save fine? Make sure you are using the latest SCDS1 SP4 OS and 1.01 firmware that was recently released. If that doesn't help then try backing up everything on your memory card and format as FAT instead of FAT32. It's a good idea to keep a backup of your save files anyway. If you are sure your SCDS1 is malfunctioning then remember it has a 1 year warranty when purchased through an authorized dealer.

sorry about that, i posted it on this forum and another one and bumped the wrong one

anyway i have more info on my problem
if after ive saved the game i do a soft reset so it reloads sc up then it saves fine
i hear this means my internal battery is defective?

i have this problem with many games, but after the 1.01 firmware thing, it stopped, than it started back up with rune factory.

well, umm i believe this is a common problem with the supercard ds one and the game Pokemon Diamond / Pearl. It happened to me several times too, from which i learned to save frequently and not once after ever hour. Although i am unsure if the latest operating system OS 4.0 or the new MicroFirmware 1.01 fix these issues there are some save messages you have to pay attention to:

"Saving ALOT of data dont turn off the power!"
this message usually pops up after you played alot, you unlocked several parts of the storyline, or you withdrew new pokemon. Make sure you save once again after you see this just in case the save data is lost... otherwise you'll find that some of your pokemon that you caught have mysteriously disappeared.. which really sucks -_- [i lost my starter because of that glitch LOL]

"Saving dont turn off the power"
this is the usual save message. in most cases if the game shows this, your save file 95% of the time would have been saved.

So the bottom line is: double save after important moments / long gameplays and save frequently! =D

but with me id dosent do it like that, befor the first castlevaina ds game i went from 4-30% finished 2 times, and i saved nearly every 4%, it did it with a few other games that way too, than with the an os upgrade and the firmware upgrade, that probem i thought was somved, than i played rune factory, and i lost nearly a month in game, which if you ever played a harvest moon game is a hell of alot, i know i got the saver size right because i have a save at the 28th day of spring, so yea i saved every ingame day, usualy at least once every 4-5 minits, i was farming, so my days ended faster than usual.
