NDS Game Dump?

Hi, I would like to know what I need to do a nds game dump?  I have about 15 nds games that I play often, and I would love to rip them all and put them all on my R4 slot 1 cart.  I orginally did this with my GBA Flash2Advance cart with all my favorite GBA games (That I own).  This is great, because I don't have to carry around all the friggin' cartridges everywhere I go.  I would like to know what are the different ways to do it, or what other hardware I would need to get this accomplished.  This way I could also put all my nds games in the closet, and just play all of them off my R4.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only way is with Rudolph's new Wifi dumper tool, found at http://blog.so-net.ne.jp/Rudolph/

It requires an FTP server though, and I don't know how to use it myself, as I just use the slot-2 version for my Supercard miniSD.  There should be a mini tutorial somewhere on the web, I think maybe DS-Scene or GBAtemp or something.

So is it possible to use a tool that comes with the Mini Supercard?  Does the Supercard lite Slot-2 have the same features?  Cause if so, I would like to get a slot-2 solution anyways for more nDS possibilities.

You'd have to use the slot-2 version of Rudolph's tool to dump to a slot-2 Supercard SD, miniSD, or Lite.  Up until a few days ago, the only dumpers available were for old CF-based slot-2 devices (and reportedly the M3 SD as well), so Rudolph's tools have greatly increased the available market for dumping games.

Sweet, I just downloaded it, but unfortunately the readme file is not in english.  Has anybody gotten this to work, that could provide some information?  I looked at the ini file, and it looks like you can change the ip address of the ftp server (I have one up and running).  But does this mean that the nDS needs to be connected to a router that is on the same subnet as the ftp server?  Just curious about the setup.  Thanks everybody!

Downloading it off the net may be an easier option.

Actually if you just use the slot 2 version discussed here, its very straightforward: http://www.scdev.org/forum/index.php?topic=11100.0
The file once loaded in the flashcard is in english, so it works pretty easily and well.

Well might as well try and get this wifi figured out, unfortunately the readme file that comes with it is not in english.  Well so far I have a apple extreme, the ftp server is 10.0.1.10, and i edited the ini file for this, user:johnny password: johnny.  I have wep on the base station and it looks like it connects (I dont know how because the DS does not ask for Wep name or password, I even tried with it open), but the program says that it cannot find the ftp server.  If anybody has any idea how to get this started, or help me if I am making any mistakes, it will be greatly appreciated.  Once I get this figured out, I will write out a guide and will post it on here for everybody.

A new version of the wifi backup tool came out today.  Does anybody know how to get this stuff to work?  I can't find anything anywhere that has concrete instructions.

If possible, could anybody direct me to an english readme file?  If I just had some instructions I would be able to use figure it out.  Thanks all!!!  I would truely appreciate this help!!!!

Ok, after countless attempts at using the ftp server tool, I have yet to yield any results.  So I am going to purchase a Slot 2 card for this.  When I was looking at Rudolphs site, it stated somewhere that he used a EZV card.  I hope to buy from real hot stuff, so I was wondering if using a Supercard lite would work with his slot-2 tool?  Anybody have tried this configuration (R4 and SCLite)?  Or does somebody know where to find a better thread or guide for this?  Thanks

I've used the slot-2 version on my Supercard miniSD, which worked fine.

For the slot 2 app, do you need to run the .nds with a slot 1 that'll dump to the slot 2 or can you run it directly on a slot 2 like the sc lite?
JPN NDSL
-MiniSD SC
-1GB Kingston MiniSD
ohhhhh boy... can't wait for a DSL SC.

dantheman

You can run it directly from the Supercard.  But you will need to launch it in DS mode, so you'll need to use your R4 as a NoPass device.  After the Supercard menu loads in DS mode, you can swap cartridges.

oo ok, my ds is already flashed with flashme so no worries.

edit: Ahh, forgot that my gf is using my ds. When I use this, will I have to run it though scconv.exe?

Probably not, but if you get a white screen upon bootup then you should do it.  Be absolutely sure to patch with DLDI though, as that's necessary for the program to be able to write to your filesystem.
