Wii does have some good games but not alot of huge epic type games like the 360 has. Zelda for Wii is huge and epic (and in my opinion the best Zelda game ever made) but thats about it as far as a huge game. Super Paper Mario is bad ass and will take you a good 30 hours to finish, but it just didn't have that "huge" felling to me. I like:

Elebits, Sonic Rush (best Sonic game since Dreamcast version), Trauma Center, Cooking Mama, Zelda, Paper Mario, Wii Sports.

The Wii version of Resident Evil 4 and Madden 07 are the best version of these games on any console. I know Madden games aren't everyone's cup of tea, but Madden with the Wii controls = GOLD! Also like some mentioned there are some GREAT GameCube games you can play on the Wii not to mention all the classic NES,SNES, N64 and other Virtual Console games.

The XboX 360 on the other hand has HUGE EPIC AMAZING games, like Bioshock (just leaked), Gears of War (the defining FPS game surpassing Halo), Halo 3, Blue Dragon (next week), Lost Planet, and some "fun" "family friendly" stuff like Viva Pinata. XboX 360's online can not be touched by anyone. It's so simple, streamlined and fast. They also have a NICE collection of new XboX Live Arcade games, aswell as some classics like Mortal Kombat, ect. The XboX 360's graphics are as good and in some games better then the PS3.

PS3, well it sucks right now. No one can deny that it is an AMAZING piece of hardware, it truly is the Cadillac of consoles, but it's like a Cadillac with no wheels. It has hardly any games and 90% of the games it does have can be purchased for the XboX 360 and they look better on the 360 or as good and the 360 cost half that of the PS3. I am of the same thinking as bitblt, the PS3 is going to come on strong........in late 2008 to 2009. By then the price will probably have dropped again and some "real" PS3 games will have come out. BluRay is going to be what allows developers to make some amazing PS3 games that simply will not be able to be ported to the XboX 360 due to the 360 only having a normal dvd drive. Hell I just read about a PS3 game in development that uses 10gigs for the AUDIO ALONE,lol.

Personally I say get the XboX 360 if you can afford it, if not get the Wii, you will simply LOVE either one. Then in a year or year in a half get the PS3 which by then should have another price drop and alot better games.

Also I just found this on digg. It's a report card for all the gaming consoles. It gives the pro and cons for them all: http://www.gamepro.com/gamepro/domestic/games/features/129088.shtml

You should read it all, but they have a tie for the best buy right now and thats between the XboX 360 and PS2.

I've been a highly vocal critic of the PS3 since it was.. well since the E3 debacle a year ago nobody needs to be reminded off.

But seriously... I think it's going to dominate in 2008/2009 based on what I've seen.  Wii will remain strong with lots of first-party exclusives at the very least, but the PS3 will probably have the best games, similar to the GC/PS2 battle except not so one-sided against the GC.  Xbox 360, even assuming it eliminates the console crashing bug tomorrow, is still doing nothing besides keeping up with typical sales figures, and the PS3 is selling roughly the same.  PS3 seems to have quite a lot of developer support lately from what I've read.

The thing with Wii is, and the only thing that will keep it in the running besides the motion control, is that it's a new system and development costs and complexity are no greater than previous-gen stuff, making it ideal for smaller companies especially.  360 and PS3 have much higher development costs primarily because there will be (or ARE) games that make everything else look ugly.  Take Gears of War for instance.  I haven't played it but from what I've read, it's jaw-dropping beautiful.  Now all other developers are compelled to keep up, which means much higher costs for modeling, texturing, animation, possibly cutscenes, etc, etc, you name it, except with a relatively small install base!  No wonder PS2 games are still being released.

So, yeah I think I'm with that earlier poster: buy a PS2.  Dirt cheap games and TONS of them.  Heck I think I'm going to have to buy one now actually...

If you want power go for the Xbox 360 if you want something fun and different go for the Wii

It's kinda like PSP vs DS, Two totally diffrent console with the only thing in common is that there handheld ones more powerfull and ones more based on the concept of being generlly fun for all ages

sonicwind

it is not really like psp vs. ds.  psp doesn't have any fun games. xbox360 actually has some that interest me.  But I'm not really a graphics ar3 pwn4ge person I bought a gamecube before this generation after all.  I'm still considering both it's tough since I can realistically only choose one and stick with it.  I don't have money to go buy the other or a ps3 later on and I really don't want to support sony  :P

Perseid

If you are only going to buy one console you might want to buy a Wii now or wait to see who wins between the 360 and the PS3. Nintendo is off in their own little world, but MS and Sony are still in direct competition and I don't think there is ultimately room for both.

There are, by the way, plenty of fun games for the PSP. Nowhere near the library of the DS, but still many good games.

VoX

I use my PSP (3.40 OE) for my emulators and the graphfics hungury games but I use my DS for the fun games like Pheonix Wright and all the good Adventure games and the games that utilize the Touch Screen :D

I just about bought a 360 but decided to hold off... I'm buying computer parts instead... ending up spending more than I would have on a 360, oh well... I'm going to wait it out.  I really think the PS3 is going to take off and want to let them battle it out before I go and buy one or the other.

DeVS

Well whatever you do, don't play Bioshock at a buddies house or somewhere else or else you will immediately go and buy a 360,lol.

Exactly. When you really get down to it, why do you play video games? Is it to be challenged? Is it to see something that looks nice? Is it to brag about how your system is very powerful? Or is it to have fun?

Sometimes, I think that people forget what video games are, or at least should be, all about- having FUN! Video games are a form of entertainment, so shouldn't we be entertained by them?

That's why I think SSB is such a success. The original SSB was at first supposed to be a low-cost (as in, Low-cost for the company) title. But it turned out to be a fantastic game. Why? I think because the developer,  Suraki, (Probably spelled his name wrong) made the game to be fun. As he said in an interview "I make games solely for the gamers" Maybe I'm taking the meaning of this quote to far, but I believe that by "For the gamers" he meant "For the gamers to ENJOY"

Whatever you buy, be it a PS2, Wii, or xbox360, remember while making your choice that what's important is that YOU enjoy the game.

Thanks, you explained it perfectly the only way to seperate this consoles is by their Power but you cant seperate them by how fun they are because every body has their own opinons, thats why a console from the  90's can be as fun as or more than the new consoles out now
