I've decided to ditch my DS-Link as the support has gone from great to terrible... basically, just wondering if there's any commercial titles that DON'T work on R4? This includes wifi features as I use them a lot.

yep this is FACT.... I have yet to find any title out of ALL games to FAIL they all work and ALL wifi games work and work great 

just remember when trimming to use NDSTOKYO trimmer to trim them otherwise it breaks download play

But if you don't play download play with a friend sitting next to you, you don't have to trim any roms. I don't mess with it personally since I play over wifi most the time.

yeah spose but a lot of the time people trim to save space if they only have a 1gb card they can usually squeeze a couple more games on

Err I'm a bit confused about the trimming... I play both Wifi (ie next to a friend) and WFC (online) - will I need to trim roms for R4? And does the R4 software not do it for you? (The DSLink one did!)

The R4 doesn't have software because you just drag a clean rom into the cart.  There are many third party trimmers, I use NDSTokyo.

its personal preference

If you want to save space on your card for more stuff then trim

If not then dont trim R4 uses its own software in the kernel to load the game like most slot 1 cards it does not need any headers patching as any if need be is done on the fly

just remember as mentioned several times in this thread some trim tools break the download play function so its recommended to use NDSTOKYO trim tool this trims the size down but keeps the ability to play wifi games

There is an official trimmer on the website. I use it, so I don't get confused if I do more than one at a time. It's the 2.0 version that keeps download play.

Speaking of this, do you know if there is an English version of the latest patcher, or an option to change the language?  I can fumble around with the buttons well enough to patch roms, but the cheats for example baffle me.

All of the DS Link software can change languages...

Doh!  I thought I'd looked at all the menus, but there is a language option which is intuitively labeled in Chinese.

The cheat descriptions are still unreadable though, and the "Add cheat" dialog labels are displayed as question marks.  Do you know if one can use Action Replay codes here without conversion?

I don't think you can use Action Reply codes without conversion, in fact I have been desperately trying to figure out how they even got the weird code system.  Either way, the huge list of codes the Chinese site provides is good enough, although it is really weird seeing the descriptions in Chinese...

If anyone knows how to use the cheat system, please tell!
