So I just got my R4 this morning, expecting 100% compability, and this happens. D:

When I played it in my SCSD, it froze in the pause menu. In the R4, I play for a little bit, then when I reach the misty blue guy, just freezes. Not like SCD, where one screen is black, and music carrys on. Just freezes.

Using a Transcend 2GB SD card. Expected a Sandisk, but got this. Bought in a bundle.

UPDATE: And I trimmed it with the official trimmer, if maybe that screwed it up? :O

It's your memory card. Buy the Japanese made Kingston to cure your woes.  :D

You're joking. I'm going on holiday this Tuesday, so theres no chance I will be able to get a new one by then.

DeVS

You said you trimmed it, try it un-trimmed. I got a feeling you got a bunk memory card. Where did you order it from?

I'm gonna try it untrimmed now. The funny thing is it comes with a Kingston adaptor, and the image on the site shows it is a Kingston, yet I got a transcend micro, which I think I paid too much for. What do you mean by bunk?

DeVS

Bunk = bad. I would drop them an email and ask them whats up. It's fishy that you got a Kingston adapter and a transcend microSD which is a cheaper microSD then a Kingston.

Yeah, I think I will email them, but I doubt anything major can be done until I get back which is early September. And I also tried without trim, but it still froze.

This was the only retailer that had them in stock, so I thought I would take my chances. There ya go. >.< I'll just play all my other games on holiday, and sort it out when I get back.

I am about to email them, and in the product section, it's describing all the the stuff it comes with, and it says:

2GB Micro-SD (Kingston/First Champion/Toshiba/Sandisk/PQI/MSI)

Do you see Transcend there? I don't.

Would any of those makes work better than the Transcend, as in no freezing on PoR?

No. Right when you see the blue mist, and they start talking, he appears, THEN it freezes.

Right. How does this sound?

Dear Gadget-Asia.

I received my order today, of my R4 Revolution, and 2GB micro SD card. On the product, you stated that I would be getting a Kingston micro SD card, or any of those other brands. The image even shows a Kingston micro SD card. I find it suspicous that I received a Kingston adaptor, but with a Transcend micro SD card, which is obviously cheaper than the Kingston model. I chose to ignore it at first, but when I started up one game called Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, it froze, as well as some other games. Now, it clearly says "2GB Micro-SD (Kingston/First Champion/Toshiba/Sandisk/PQI/MSI)" in the details section, but I don't see Transcend as a option, yet I still got one? A cheap model of an SD card? The R4 DS is known for its 100% compability of games, yet this is obviously, not the case.

And thats all I have done so far. I don't know whether to demand a new memory card, or make a threat or something to finish it. ;D

Also, the link to the actual product: http://www.gadget-asia.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=472&category_id=51&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

I don't think it matters. When they added the ( 4-5 different type of microSD brand list) they meant that you'll randomly receive the cheapest memory card they have in stock.

But they don't have Transcend as one of the offered brands..

DeVS

And it's odd you got 1 type of memory card with a different type of memory adapter. Were they in one package or did they come in separate packages?

I understand your perspective, the problem is I don't think the company is going to give a hoot. Your fighting a battle with a slim chance of winning.
