Hey guys,

My DSOne just arrived today, and I am very impressed with it so far. It has a ton option that you get to play with. And I'm using a Japan made microsd with it and PoR is running flawlessly, so I'm guessing every other game will too.

Anyways, I have a couple questions. When you start the DSOne, the screens are switched. The bottom screen with the game files are on the top, and the top screen is on the bottom. And I know to press L+A to switch them around. But when I turn the DS off, and turn it back on, they're switched back. So I have to press L+A everytime I start the DS. So is there any way to save the screens the way I want them? Is there something in the Global file I can edit?

Also, how do you bring up the cheat menu while playing the game? I have cheats enabled. So I can pick cheats before I start the game, but I can't get the cheat menu to come up while playing the game. I thought it was L+R+Right+Start, if I choose I press Select at the initial cheat screen before you start the game, to make the cheat text red. So what am I doing wrong?

Also, sometimes I accidentally start a game, and it enters the cheat menu. Is there anyway to get back to the Supercard menu from the cheat menu? I've tried every key, but B just starts the game.

I think these are all my questions. I'm just kind of stumped on these right now, so any info, will be greatly appreciated.

In the GLOBAL.ini file change this:
FileSubScreen=1
to
FileSubScreen=0

When you press SELECT, it disables all the cheats until you enable them.  It is used for games that cannot create a save file with cheats in the beginning. (i.e. Castlevania PoR)

Thank you very much Vapourstreak. But unfortunately...I'm still not understanding the real time cheat thing. Is the hot key for real time cheat L+R+Left+Start? And does it bring up an actual menu during the game, or does it just turn the cheats on and off?

L+R+Start+UP enters cheat menu

L+R+Start+Left or Right is the hotkey combo to turn all cheats on and off without enetering the menu (can't remeber which way round though



also try the cheats on JMR's SC Cheats page..... http://members.lycos.co.uk/sccheats/    ... they should be much better, this  was done as a lot of the supplied cheats in the patcher software are screwy

Yes! L+R+Start+Up is indeed it. Thank you so much meangreenie. I am just amazed by this cart so far, I should have gotten it a long time.

Now...for patch mode, isn't suppose to detect the save size for you? Well, it didn't with PoR. I played it up to the first save point and saved. Then I turned the DS off and back on, and my save was gone. The save was set at 512k. So when I set the save size to 64k, then saved in the game, and then turned the DS on and off, the save was still there.

So do you know why this happened?

I'm not sure on that question as I don't have a scds (gonna get one soon),  I have just an ageing sc-cf at the moment which has the same cheat engine. I'll leave that for someone who can answer you properly. I thought it was only clean mode that required save size setting and also a 8.3 file name convention.

Ok, I just ran a Self Test onthe DS One. And the first lines are:

Test Flash
flash id ok!
flash error!

And the words "flash error!" are in red? What does this mean? Is it anything to worry about?

This is the only error I get, and I didn't know if it was a common error or something, so I just thought I would ask. Besides that, the cart is performing perfectly.

Does the Dsone have slo mo? If so, what is the hotkey combo?

I keep reading that it has slo mo, but there's no option in the on-the-fly patcher on the cart for slo mo.

seems that the official sc page has forgotten to put the slowmo.scc in the downloads section after they last changed it as I can't find the English version on their pages, hopefully someone else knows where to get it.

just use the sccmerge tool to add it to any cheat file, press the 'a' button to cycle through it's options on the cheat page... note the L+R option doesn't seem to do what you would think it would, ie L=slower R=faster (i'm not sure how it works as i can't read the chinese), the 'L' option means when you press 'L' shoulder button the game will slow down for a set time @7 or 8 seconds and then return to normal , other options are obvious ie 1,2,3,4,5,speed clr, off

btw option 1 (press L or R) does change the speed up and down
and option 2 is 'HOLD' L to slowdown, when you let go it can take a couple of secs to go back to full speed
