DSLink + EZ 3-in-1 - would it work?

The idea being to load GBA games onto the DSLink and have them boot via the 3-in-1. I understand I'd need some kind of loader but I had no luck finding them. Anyone?

In fact, DS Link is the best solution (along with R4) to work with Rudolph's application because it supports RAM, Rumble and GBA.

Awesome, a use for my DSLink until I can afford an R4. I got a 3-in-1 for £13 inc postage :)

I see you need to patch the GBA roms with the EZ4 loader... easy enough. Does it matter whether they are patched with 'restart' enabled/disabled?

The patching is just to make non-SRAM games save to the SRAM on the 3n1.  Other features such as "restart" should be left disabled.  I have used the EZ4 patcher and it has a bug where some ROMs are output without a filename.  Pretty annoying.  I suggest using srampatch.exe as described here:

Ah, I thought as much :)

I did notice the ez4 bug while preparing my roms earlier... I'm not too bothered though, as long as the actual output files are ok :)

I haven't had any problems with the EZ4 patcher as other people have described, but whatever.  I know the GBATA is a pretty popular program as far as SRAM patching as well.

I read somewhere that GBATA doesn't patch games with larger save sizes correctly - don't know if it's true but I'll find out in a day or two when my new toy shows up

Well I got it today and so far I'm very impressed :)

Could somebody explain the saving system for PSRAM mode to me? I've made it work once or twice but it's a little confusing for someone that's used to supercard. What's the difference between backing up using (b) or (x)? Should I be using both? Or neither?

*Brain boggle*

edit: I'd also like to extract the sram saves from my GBA Carts and use them with my 3-in-1. I only have a DSLink and the 3-in-1 at the moment, is it possible and what tools would I need?

Lol have fun with the EZ3in1, I love mine!

I don't really use the PSRAM because I play RPGs usually and find it a drag to have to load it everytime.  So I'm not sure, sorry.

For the SRAM saves from (I'm guessing) retail GBA carts, you have to extract them to your DS Link first, then somehow put them into your 3in1.

To take save files from your GBA carts to your DS Link, you need a savesender, I recommend Eepinator (http://blog.davr.org/2007/03/31/eepinator/).  I also hear good things about Rudolph's own save backup, supposedly you can then put it directly into the EZ3in1, but I haven't used it, you can check out the GBATemp discussion here (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=58572&hl=).

Basically, if you use Eepinator, you might have to convert the save files, then place it into the EZ3in1, but generally you don't need to convert.
