Help with Shock case installation (touch screen, left speaker not working)

I've got this Shock case mostly installed now, what an adventure... Anyways, I just hooked up the battery and powered it on (bottom part isn't fully assembled yet), and found that the touch screen doesn't react to anything.  Also the left speaker doesn't seem to work, it just spits out static occasionally.

The thing with the touch screen probably has something to do with me replacing the lower screen LCD.  This new screen works great, no dead pixels that I can see.  I removed the touchscreen as carefully as I could and reapplied it to the new screen with great care.  As for the speaker, I don't think I did anything that could physically damage it, but maybe I creased the wire ribbon a little too much.  Just seems very ODD that I would lose sound but the video that comes through the same cable would be perfectly fine.

Does anyone know what has likely gone wrong with my touchscreen and left speaker?

the touch panel has a separate cable which connects to the top of the mainboard, make sure that's seated and connected.

not too sure about the speaker problem. just make sure the top ribbon cable is seated properly and that the speaker cables are still soldered to it.

How do you re-seat the touchscreen connector?  Is there a guide to replacing screens etc somewhere?

I'll try re-seating that main cable, that seems to be a possibility... Crap that thing's hard to maneuver your hands around!  Here I go again....  :'(

if you look at the bottom screen with the touch panel, you see two ribbon cables right? one is thick orange facing the side (for the lcd) and the other is a smaller one facing the top (for touch panel). make sure the top smaller cable is pushed into the connector and locked in place.

don't know if there's a specific guide for screens, but these two links should help:

Shock! install instructions (there's a clear shot of the touch panel cable on step 7)

Youtube disassemble video (check out the cable he's unlocking with the screwdriver at 3:47)
