I make the picture above with ds organize using a ruler. So all the lines supposed to be straight. You can see above the lines are not.......
I wonder this this normal or not.....
I only realized this problem after playing picross( It require accurate movement)
I do not notice it in another game.
Should I consider repairing it?
Can somebody give any idea how it happened?
FYI, my dsl had fell pretty high 3 TIMES(I suck at taking care of my electronics :tard:. that's why i get a ds not psp :D.)

i wouldn't say it's normal, but it does happen to a lot of DS units. (looking at the pic, it doesn't seem too severe)

speak to nintendo about it, or if you prefer you can buy and replace the touch panel for about £15.

Devil_Spawn

this is caused by being a little heavy handed with the stylus, and is hardware damage. it is not serious at the moment so be careful!

nintendo said it would cost me £40-50 per fixed touch screens

kkan

have you tried RECALIBRATION ?

sometimes that can help

thank you.
It was not caused by dislocated cable then?
haha "heavy handed".
i like your term :D
yeah, my dsl was used by 5 years old to 40+ old people and i don't have time to tell them how use the screen properly(busy with u-life)
i even used to hit really hard the screen when playing ouendan 1&2(Much enjoyable to me that way)
maybe pushed the screen to far :P
i was under impression that the screen can take a lot of abuse.
If you see carefully the dented line at the middle screen is where ouendan spinner is located
i tried A LOT OF TIMES.
hardware damage cannot be helped by recalibration then.

Devil_Spawn

the screen can take a lot of abuse, however the touch screen is a different matter, your lucky as at the moment it is _very_ minor, just take as much care as you want as they will not fix it for free

its definitely not cable-related

u can fix it yourself for around £15, but i would stick with that for as long as you can

mudlouse1

actually, all lcd screens are of similar durability - they can be broken even by pushing your finger on it. the only "protection" the bottom has is the thick touch panel being in front of it (similar to glass fronted lcd televisions and monitors).

i would imagine mis-calibration issues would be caused by a deformed touch panel.

Devil_Spawn

ds lite touch screen lcd's are incredibly difficult to break, my friend had destroyed most of it so he uhh 'took it out' on the poor thing, using two thumbs, and it made some HORRIBLE noises but he completely failed to break it

the top screen is quite a bit easier to break, but in my experience dropping almost never does any damage unless you are unfortunate enough for it to crack a hinge

i have dropped my fat ds many many times (even onto concrete), and it is still tip-top sept for a few scratches

anuarbin

wow.
as expected from this forum, very informative.
thank you for all of your advise.

so the touch element is not as durable as the screen.
if i know this ealier, i will take better care of it :'(
well
i just use it until it broke and replace it :D

it's the other way around.

the actualy screens can be broken by dropping, but in everyday use, its the point of the stylus that damages the touch screen

never use anything other than a stylus, its just asking for it to be broke

teknicz

OUCH.

Did anyone else literally cringe after watching that video? That poor DS...

I'd never do that to my DS, wouldn't even try it. It's just not funny! Anyone who's had some kinda lcd screen should really know better.

I assume that video is just a test of some sorts though, right?

yeah and use A LOT of things on my touchscreen
a pen
a pencil
a mechanical pencil
I really think that the touchscreen is indestructible :tard:
the manual did specify to only use stylus ;).

Devil_Spawn

wario ware + a pen killed my first touch screen on my ds within a month of getting it, over a year later and my second is still going strong :D

stanleyopar2000

How did you actually get that screen to check for touchscreen damage!? i play Ouedan 1 and 2 Hours on end and i want to see if i got damage too :buck2:
PSP Slim- 4.01M33-2 1gb+4GB Memory Stick
Nintendo DS PHAT+R4 DS +SuperCard SD

And a NES, Sega, Atari and others! :D...

The Classics will ALWAYS live on! ^_^
