Is it me or does this game seem like a God of War clone? Thats not a bad thing necessarily, but come on it looks like God of War with boobs:

Slash Slash Slash. Jump Jump Slash. Watch boobs bounce. Jump Slash Slash. I've played this game before. :P

its a hell of a cool game watched this on GAMER TV here in the UK and the battle modes and camera panning around the character and from various angles is cool too and added to this theres bits where the camera is actually following the flight path of an arrow into the victim fired previously by the main booby character ;D and she also whields a pretty cool wooden bazooka type weapon in the game :)

liquidnitrogen

yeah... it does carry the god of war fell especially with the minigame like commands

DeVS

Seems like this one is just a renter as the reviews are saying the game is fantastic, but only takes 6 hours to beat. They say it is super short which is a bummer.

I had an opportunity to download and play the Heavenly Sword game demo. I must say I think the game looks and plays fantastic. I believe it's quite accurate when people compare it to GOW, except heroine Nariko is much better on the eyes than Kratos. The game has many of the elements that made GOW great. That is a good thing IMO. You will definitely notice the effort put into this game with its amazing battles and a well polished combat system. The incredibly detailed scenery and characters are spectacular to behold when viewed on an HD screen. My only disappointment was approximately 15 minutes of gameplay for a whopping 1GB download. This is a fine example of why games of this caliber can only be done properly using Blu-ray technology. Without a doubt I will own this game. Simply stunning.

Meh I downloaded the demo and found it kinda boring. It's just mindless button smashing. It looks good, but the "cut scene" kills seems to slow down the button smashing in a useless manner. I will just rent it as I can't see much replay value in a button smasher.

I don't understand why you would say Heavenly Sword is boring. It's definitely a hack-n-slash but I wouldn't describe it as boring. GameSpot gave it a 8.0 review score. Did you find GOW boring?

I do agree with you that the game probably doesn't have much replay value because of its linear gameplay. I could see playing it twice at most. The thing is my kids want to play the game too so renting isn't an option for me. Sony will probably offer add-on levels like they have already done with several other PS3 games?

DeVS

Maybe it was just the demo only showed a small part of the game, but I found the action to lacking. For some reason I found myself wanting to jump up and swing the sword, lol, but she can't jump. From videos I have seen I REALLY want to try out the part of the game where you shoot a cannon, gun, or arrow and the screen goes into first person mode and you get to control the ammo by tilting the controller, that looked bad ass. Rachet and Clank had a missile that did that, but it will interesting to do it just by titling the PS3 controller. I defiantly want to try out the game more, but I just can't see dropping $60 on a short game especially since the demo did not blow my socks off. And just by judging the demo, this will not be as fun as God of War was, but similar.

No, not yet. I'm still playing Warhawk every night, even though my stats are messed up, and I'm ranked as an Wingman when I should be ranked something much less. lol I guess they are still working on the stats bug.

I'll probably pick up Heavenly Sword this weekend.

DeVS

I read there was a new PS3 update that fixed some bugs for Warhawk today, maybe that will help you out.

Well hell it looks like according to the developer of Heavenly Sword there will be NO downloadable content and the game is getting bad reviews:

Quote

Speaking in a recent interview, Nina Kristensen, Co-founder of Ninja Theory and Chief Development Ninja for Heavenly Sword revealed that there will be no downloadable content for Heavenly Sword on the PS3. She states the team thought about it, but their focus then shifted to making the bext possible single player offline experience. Moreover, Nina was asked for her thoughts on various reviews of which scored the title as low as a 6 and claimed that was a bit harsh and it hasn't been taken personally.

Man I was excited for this game but it looks like it has gotten "Liared",lol.

I wouldn't go as far as comparing Heavenly Sword to Lair. Lair got bad reviews across the board. Reviews for Heavenly Sword seem to be mixed.  It was gamesTM that gave Heavenly Sword a 6/10 review score. (Who are gamesTM and do they get kickbacks from Microsoft?) I prefer to read reviews by more reliable sources. IGN gave Heavenly Sword a somewhat weak 7.0 review score. GameSpot on the other hand gave Heavenly Sword a decent 8.0 review score.  Metacritic.com gives Heavenly Sword an 8.0 as well, and their scoring is a weighted average based on 24 different reviews.

I honestly can't defend the game myself because I've only played the Demo, but I wouldn't dismiss the game just because some "gamesTM" gave it a low score. I'll let you know what I think after I actually play the full game.

DeVS

Sweet, can't wait for your review. I have actually looked for it here but can't find it even though they said it went on sale on the 12th.
