A friend has a dslite for sale that i want to buy but the top screen is cracked and not working, the Dslite does work because he is able to play gba games on the bottom screen. I have an old Phat DS that i could take the screen needed to fix the Ds lite but I'm not sure if the screens are compatible so my question for anyone who can answer it is this, Can i use the top screen of a PhatDS on a Dslite? If so then will it have the brightness option? Thanks in advance to anyone able to answer.

the short answer would be no.

the screen component is a different size (likley different spec too) and cable. you'd need to buy a ds lite top screen, also note that unlike the phat the screens on the lite have different cables so you have to buy the correct one.

could always get it and see what nintendo have to say about it they may offer you a repair cheaply
