cant add cheat.

I can't add any cheat files to my games.
I'm on the newish firmware and software. but i cant add .scc.
when I try to open the cheat menu in game... the game goes crazy.
I tried it on rune and advance wars DS.

I'm i doing something wrong?

Check out the super card cheat site.. http://www.sccheats.co.uk/ there are tuturials of how to setup and activate cheats .

i did use that site. but i cant get that one screen to pop up to show me what cheat to activate.

Check your firmware version, start your ds with L+R held down to get the info screen, then use the 'a' button to cycle through the info screens, take note of your firmware.

Your firmware version needs to be 1.80 or above to get the cheat screen.

If you have the correct firmware and you're sure that you are doing nothing wrong, then it could be likely that you upgraded the firmware from a very early version straight to 1.83, this has been known to cause problems, if you think that may be the case then downgrade the firmware to 1.63 and then upgrade in order.... 1.63->1.70->1.80->1.81->1.83

.... but please make doubly sure you are not doing anything wrong before deciding if you want to try the downgrade/reupgrade path..(example.. to get DS rom options, double click the rom in the list, the DS options are NOT in the options tab, that's for gba only)

Dont forget you need to add the .scc cheat file when patching for slot 2 cards otherwise you will not see the cheat appear at all look at the guide on the http://www.sccheats.co.uk/ site for slot 2 cards

i'm on 1.83
and i did add the cheat file before patching and it is selected and its in my sdcard.
ill try downgrading and working my way up.
im running on a sd mini. where can i find the earlyist firmware? the one on the site only has 1.7 listed

is the cheat file NAMED EXACTLY the same name as your game and save game?

example ....

Mario Kart DS.nds.dsq
Mario Kart DS.nds.sav
Mario Kart DS.nds.scc

If there not the same names it will not use the cheat file

yea, i followed the guide to a T.
I'm missing the 1.8 firmware. where can i get it? its not in the download pack... i don't think it was there in the past ether.. maybe thats why I'm having this problem.

also its not on the mirror site.

Ok, I loaded up 1.80 and the cheat menu still dose not show up.
I downgraded to 1.70 from 1.83... Then went up to 1.80 then 1.81 then to 1.83
Then I just tried 1.80
Nothing is working o.o
Do I need to go lower than 1.70? I’m scared I might brick my supercard mini SD if I go lower.

should the .scc file should look garbled up like this?

yes it looks like that in word pad thats because when its converted to .scc its ENCRYPTED

only the supercard can decode it to real words and tell the supercard what to do with it

1.63 as far as I know/remember

yeah, I cant the firmware find it.
honestly. i don't know why this is not working.
i downloaded the .scc made sure they match. set the patching options.. clicked out. uploaded to my SD card. and it just wont pick up.
i downgraded to 1.70 and went back up on every update.
i might try formating my SD card and then retrying from scratch.

any and all ideas are welcomed.
