I'm sure everyone knows about those 4 digit numbers that precede the name of the ROM. Do these numbers have any particular value? Are they the same everywhere you look (So the same ROM number for a ROM you downloaded from a different site)?

There are different lists that different sites maintain, so sometimes there are going to be different numbers for the same games.  PocketHeaven has a list, AdvanScene (spelling?) has a list, GBAtemp has a list, etc.
