I have an idea for a piece of SC soft ware that would automate the potentialy long process of creating a new copy of the .sav files for NES and GB/GBC roms.

I am new to the SC sceen but i love breaking my nes and gb games out of moth balls. But to enable saves on about 100 titles i need to create a new copy for each game and copy and paste the titles of all 100 games to all 100 copies of the preped save files.

A tool that scans a folder for nes or gb roms that do not have a matching .sav file then pastes the apropriate type of .sav and incerts the rom name.

I have some experience coding databases and the concept seems easy enough but i am not a true programer so it may be harder than it sounds.

Heck, that could be accomplished with a batch file.  Lemme whip something up real quick.

EDIT:  I attached it to this post.  It's not a Supercard program of course, but it might work just as well.  You can also edit the batch file to suit your needs.  It shouldn't overwrite any existing save files, but I'd be cautious of it regardless.

Thanaks you rock.
Also i feel like a bit of a retard. :tard: You saved me a few hours work with 2 lines of code. ;D

Edit: I made a minor change and reposted your batch file. Just added the proper file for the .nes saves and added a line to handle .gb files.
(Let me know if i screwed up It seems to work)

You probably don't need a separate save file for NES games, as they both just need blank 64 kb save files, right?  I don't use the built-in emulators a lot though, so I could be wrong.  Aside from that, thanks for editing, I forgot about GB games for some stupid reason.

I thought so originaly but they are different some how. I tried renaming the save.sav for gb and gbc games and pairing it with a .nes game and it dosent work it has to be the forNessave.sav in the sc folder if you want to play for instance  river city ransome.nes and use save states.
